DANGEROUS NEW PHISHING TECHNIQUE
By Why is there a pyro here?
Hello everyone. Now, you may think this is just another one of those 'much danger, such wow' guides. And it is. There is a new phishing technique i discovered just recently, on tf2 outpost. I bumped my trade, and someone posted this 'I hope you're not doing the same crap that this guy did' and he then pasted a link. Not to something like 'steamcornmunity' but instead a link to a video. Seems innocent enough, eh?

WRONG

In order to view the video entitled 'new tf2 scam' (it may be different), it required you to download a plugin. The video has comments in order to look more real, but don't fall for it. The plugin downloads 'steam' and it requires you to enter your details. Once they've been entered, it's too late. You will probably be able to get your account back by changing your password however.

My computer is too stupid to take a screenshot, so i'm afraid i'll just have to tell you.

Phisher-'I hope you aren't doing the same crap that this guy did (insert link here)'
Me-What?
Me- Do you have a problem with me selling my items?
Phisher has been banned for 'phishing' and all their posts and trades have been hidden

I hope this helps! Be careful, and happy trading!

You do realise that just clicking links in general is pretty stupid when it comes to Steam, it's not very common, but people who actually know how to develop Trojans put them in links all the time. It's been around for like, 5 years or so.
