Inn Save, Fast Travel and Other Info
The game uses autosave and that can mess things up if you fail a quest. Inn saves are hard saves that are very safe and they cannot be autosaved over. In game over screen you have an option to return to last inn save, so you use the cliff nearby if you need to reset after failing a riddle.

Bring at least one portcrystal that you can leave at the shrine and a lot of ferrystones because the riddles make you travel a lot.

You can fail in the first set of Riddles and do them in any order. Second batch is done in random order and failing results in Sphinx leaving.

There is one riddle with a time limit.

1st Sphinx shrine location: Cave that leads to the Mountain Shrine is behind the ruined fortress north of Checkpoint Rest Town. Climb to the top of the fortress and then over the back wall. Cave has a lot of treasures and a boss at the end before you reach the shrine.
1st Shrine
Riddle of Eyes
Tip 1: There are more than one red chests in the dungeon, one of them has a rare item.
Tip 2: It's somewhere you wouldn't expect the most valuable treasure to be.
Tip 3: It's in the first half of the dungeon.

Solution: The Sealing Phial is in a chest above the entrance doorway.
Reward: Wakestone and you get to keep the Sealing Phial

Riddle of Madness
Tip 1: It is asking you to bring a person.
Tip 2: You can bring someone who is near or use ferrystone to bring someone to the shrine.

Solution: Bring any NPC to the pedestal, it can be your pawn. You can even bring multiple NPCs for different dialogue.
Reward: Portcrystal

Riddle of Wisdom
Tip 1: You need to seek out a pawn.
Tip 2: Make sure they are a "Parent".
Tip 3: Visit Harve's rift stone if you have not done that already.

Solution: Bring a pawn with name "SphinxParent" to the pedestal. Quickest way is to use Vernworth riftstone and look at the most popular pawns.
Reward: 1200 Rift Coins

Riddle of Conviction
Tip 1: It is asking you to bring an item that is very valuable to you.
Tip 2: It's best to be honest with this riddle.

Solution: Give any item, it is then copied.
Reward: Copy of the offered item (and you get to keep the original item)

Riddle of Rumination
Tip 1: Search the locations you explored at the start of the game. Don't worry, failing this does not prevent you from continuing to the next riddles. In next playthrough you should make a note on which you picked up first.

Solution: Go to the place where you found your first Seeker's Token in that save file.
Reward: 3 Ferrystones
2nd Shrine
Riddle of Reunion
Tip 1: Second shrine is in Battahl.
Tip 2: it's in the northern mountain range of Battahl and can be seen from the distance.

Solution: Climb the water fall area in northern Battahl mountainside, go about half way through the mountain path and take the turn at the middle where there are ruins and a collapsed pillar.
Or if you're adventurous, you can catch a ride from it. Grab hold when it's ready to fly away and climb to it's back. If you're careful you can stand to regain stamina, be careful not to slide off.

Reward: 100 000 G

Riddle of Recollection
Tip 1: Finding the second shrine counts as a riddle. It also counts failed riddles.
Tip 2: Previous location had five chests, five riddles. Then add how many you have solved at this shrine.

Solution: No one solution because the riddle order is randomized. Count the completed riddles in quest log and bring that number of statues to the pedestal area.
Reward: Unmaking Arrow

Riddle of Differentiation
Tip 1: Use your History NPC page to search NPCs you have encountered.
Tip 2: He lives in Checkpoint Rest Town.
Tip 3: He has a twin, so take a good look on who you are taking to the Sphinx.

Solution: He lives in Checkpoint Rest Town, on the Battahl side of the gate. He usually walks along the main road. You can grab him and use a ferrystone to teleport him to the shrine.
Reward: Whimsical Daydream

Riddle of Futility
Tip 1: You can clear the road of enemies before carrying the pot. The pot location does not change if you fast travel, meaning you cannot teleport it or carry it with oxcart.
Tip 2: Clever use of an item saves you a lot of time.
Tip 3: You can use an item you got from earlier riddle.

Solution: You can either carry the pot to Bakbattahl or take Maurits with you with a ferrystone or the Sealing Phial. He has different dialogue for each option.
Reward: Eternal Bond

Riddle of Contest
Tip 1: Get him off balance first.
Tip 2: Use the environment to your advantage.

Solution: Grab him and send him flying from the cliff.
Reward: Ring of Ambition

The Last Riddle
Tip 1: Kill the Sphinx. Attack it before it flies away. Multiple hits are required so use quick attacks.
Tip 2: The pot you delivered, mural at Mountain Shrine and mural in Bakbattahl give hints on how to fight her and what the reward will be.
Tip 3: Pawns may be in the way in this riddle. You can order them to wait and stay out of the way.

Solution: Only attack it's lion body parts and wings. If you hit the head or chest, it will fly away and leave permanently. Battle alone if possible, pawns can mess up this fight. You can also use Unmaking Arrow when it's flying away, but do not shoot the arrow until it's airborne.
Reward: Eternal Wakestone and money

I'll add the travel tip to the guide!
I'll have to try to get that ending for the quest next time, thanks for the tip! :winter2019happydog:

Breaking News: it is possible to get kill credit for the sphinx without her ever flying away.

Vocation: Warfarer. Equipped bow and daggers. Used only daggers' basic attack - and only on her hindquarters. Commanded pawns to wait; mage pawn still healed.

When Sphinx's health bar reached zero, she said some approving things and then dissolved into golden sparkles. She never tried to fly away, and I got credit for "killing" her.

No need to try and "shoot her down" because she never flew away.

Hope it helps. :)

Riddle of Reunion can also be solved by riding on the Sphinx's back as she's getting ready to fly away.

Just quick run back and grab her to climb on her back. Once you're on her back, you can let go to stop your stamina from draining.

Once you reach Battahl, she'll start flying into a mountain cliff, this sign is the part where you should grab onto her again, as she's going to go through a cave system while ascends towards the shrine.

I have added your suggestions and added to previous tips.

Maybe they put the effect in case the player accidentally hits it, so it doesn't aggro and leave for a simple mistake.

Oh yeah, also forgot to point out that she has palladium on her that tanks first few strikes, just like your own from mage class
If you're prone to violence, after completing all of the riddles ensure she starts flying away BEFORE using an unmaking arrow on her, otherwise she'll just tank it and leave requiring you to start a new game to kill her

Also worth noting that the moniker system itself might be confusing, because it basically works as a name placeholder so to speak for any languages other than pawn's author selected one, so if the game chooses to show you the actual primary name written by player for a pawn - there's no place in the interface (or I haven't found it?) where you can check their moniker, as a result, if your game is in English, a lot of those pawns will probably have their written names, however they would still be correct because their moniker is sphinx-related . The easiest way to see this is to switch language - and you will notice even your arisen and main pawn will change names to monikers.

^^^ basically that was very elaborate way of saying don't be surprised if you see many non Sphinx related names there if you're on English

Yeah, every riftstone outside of major cities have only limited selection of pawns, usually have some specific modifiers like "find kindhearted pawns" or "pawns with quest set" or "female pawns of large stature", etc.
The one in Harve is "find pawns with unique moniker" which are all "SphinxMother", "SphinxFather" or "SphinxParent", made specifically for this riddle - also after activating it, you can access that specific modifier from any great riftstone in two capitals.

Alright, I added the first two suggestions. Statue suggestion is included in the solution.

Yeah, the pot riddle is a bit troll riddle, but on my first character I did it the painful way and I wanted first to add my method as a tip because I guess many will try carrying it first before realizing it can't be this difficult. I got different dialogue from that trip at least

Can you elaborate on the last one, is there something different about Harve riftstone compared to others? I teleported to Vernworth to find a correct named one on my second playthrough. I think any major town rift stone will do. Strangely on my first character I had a correctly named pawn with me when I got this riddle. :winter2019joyfultearsdog:
