What is the Tactician's Renewal?

The Tactician's Renewal is a unique amulet in Dragon Age: Inquisition. The amulet confers the ability to respec the wielder's abilities. (refunds all allocated ability points for the character who uses it) It is consumed in the process.

Item Description:
"This single-use amulet lets the bearer clear her/his mind and reapply the benefits of combat knowledge for maximum tactical flexibility. Crafted by the Formari Tranquil who, despite recent events, remain open to commissions by the influential, although at increasing rarity and cost."

How to Acquire the Tactician's Renewal

Inquisition Base Game
Haven:
Purchase from the Blacksmith's forge for 1 (Gold).

Haven (Early Game)
Progress to Haven:
Play through the main storyline until you establish Haven as your base of operations. This occurs early in the game
Locate the Blacksmith's Forge:
From the central Chantry building:
Exit to the main courtyard.
Walk toward the right side of the area where crafting stations are located.
The Blacksmith's merchant is near the forge.
Purchase the Tactician's Renewal:
Purchase from the Blacksmith's forge for 1 (Gold).

Skyhold:
Available from the Undercroft merchant for 1 (Gold).

Skyhold (Mid-to-Late Game)
Unlock Skyhold:
Progress through the main story until the "In Your Heart Shall Burn" quest, which transitions your base from Haven to Skyhold.
Find the Undercroft:
After entering Skyhold, head to the Undercroft:
From the main hall, take the stairs down to the crafting area.
The Undercroft is marked on your map.
Visit the Merchant:
Inside the Undercroft, speak to the merchant near the crafting tables.
Purchase the Amulet:
The first Tactician's Renewal costs 1 (Gold). Additional amulets cost 345 (Gold).

Winter Palace,Trespasser DLC (Late-Game)
Winter Palace:
Available from the Winter Palace Merchant for 345 (Gold).

Install the Trespasser DLC
Before proceeding, make sure you have the Trespasser DLC installed and are playing through the DLC's content. The Winter Palace becomes accessible as part of this expansion's storyline.

Progress to the Winter Palace
Start the Trespasser Questline:

After completing the main game, start the Trespasser DLC from the War Table in Skyhold.
Select the mission that brings you to the Winter Palace.
Reach the Winter Palace:

You’ll travel to the Winter Palace during the main questline in Trespasser. This location acts as a central hub during the DLC.
Locate the Merchant
Enter the Winter Palace:
As you explore the palace, you’ll notice different areas designated for crafting, merchants, and quest activities.
Find the Merchant Area:
From the main courtyard of the Winter Palace:
Head toward the crafting and merchant stalls.
The merchant is stationed at one of the vendor tables in this section.

Identify the Correct Vendor:
Look for the merchant who sells accessories and specialty items, including the Tactician's Renewal.
Purchase the Tactician's Renewal
The Tactician's Renewal costs 345 (Gold). Ensure you have enough to make the purchase.

Additional Purchases:
After the first amulet, additional Tactician's Renewals can be bought for 345 (Gold) at the same merchants.
