Locations

Do the first batch of main storyline quests missions you get from Brant. You cannot miss this one.
Reward in "A Trial of Archery", Glyndwr's side quest. You get it from his father after the rescue mission.
In a griffin nest, directly south of Misty Marshes. You can climb into the nest area either from Misty Marshes campsite or from the small mountain road from the south.
Buy from Dragonforged for 20 Wyrmslife Crystals. He is in a cave at the coast north of Bakbattahl. Main quest will lead you there eventually. Wyrmslife Crystals drop from dragon bosses.
Sphinx's reward for "Riddle of Madness" at the Mountain Shrine. Cave that leads to the shrine is behind the ruined fortress north of Checkpoint Rest Town.
Solve Sphinx's quest "Riddle of Conviction" by giving it a portcrystal. You will get to keep the one you offered and receive a copy from the chest.

Tips

Keep at least one in your inventory to make exploration easier. Whenever you need to visit your home, drop the portcrystal where you are and you can easily continue your adventure later.
If you grab and carry a person, you can take them with you when you use a Ferrystone. Useful for escort missions.
Ferrystones can be bought from any potion shops, but they only have on at a time. Standard price is 10 000. I recommend buying one every time you visit a town.
Dragonforged sells Ferrystones for 3 Wyrmslife Crystals.
