Note
I have created a small map modeled after a real coffee shop. This map can be used for shooting atmospheric videos and photos. It is also compatible with Node AI and Navmesh, so it can be modified into various maps with your favorite addons. The map was created with permission from real shop's manager. Also, please understand that this map was created for the purpose of improving the map creator's 2D CAD and 3D modeling skills, and not for promotional purposes for the modeled location.

As of April 17, 2024, there is an unexplained error causing textures to appear solid black in some play environments. I have tested on both a gaming PC and a laptop, with both AMD and Intel chipsets, but have not encountered the issue myself, making it difficult for me to address. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to fix these issues, so I recommend not playing the map if you encounter these errors and find them unpleasant. I hope to be able to upload a new version soon.

Depending on your PC environment, bugs or errors may occur. If the map progress is interrupted or does not go well, you may be able to resolve it by opening the "developer console" and entering "reload" or "restart". Other issues can be reported in the thread or comments.

Overview
Welcome to the coffee shop map in City 4714. Here, you can enjoy coffee in an atmospheric space, invite friends to chat, or play with NPCs or Nextbots. It looks like the previous customers have left, so you or your friends are the only ones in the shop.Now, enjoy this private space just for you, where you can relax comfortably regardless of being Combine or Resistance etc.

I also unfortunately have black textures on the custom models, and a big ERROR model on top of the kitchen counter.

I see, after creating this map, I built a cubemap, but I received feedback from other users that the reflection textures were receiving too much light. I corrected this, thinking it might have been the cause, hmmm but it seems it was not. I'm going through and revising and correcting areas I suspected, but I am currently in a state where I do not know or cannot find the solution.

IIRC cubemaps are built on what the game renders on the main layer; for example if you're in third person, your playermodel will be in the cubemap. Props will also display. This can be good in some cases but not others. Not sure if this has any relation to the textures being black, though...

It seems the lighting may have been too bright indeed. I looked into how to build cubemaps and applied that to the new version. Now, the lighting is not too bright. It would be great if the models were also displayed nicely...

All of the ones in the models folder do as far as I can see. The rest do unless I enable fullbright, so that's a lighting bug. Deleting the additional textures didn't fix it, at least not for the toilet.

Also, there are error models in the kitchen and secret noclip area.

Some computers may ignore material errors, so I really appreciate your error report.
I attempted to fix those errors earlier.
Are there any other material errors that appear completely black?

I'm still getting black textures, though it's just the ones in the models folder.

Requesting texture value from var "$basetexture" which is not a texture value (material: models/box_m_c/box_m_c_normal) (x2)

By the looks of things, it's looking for a "$basetexture" value in the "normal" vmt, and there isn't one.
