This game is tough. Not as tough as LF2 back in the days, but still tough.

If you have difficulties on clearing stage, try different characters.
-I was having hard time with solo Botan, restart and using Nene help me clear the game without single retry.

The tutorial didn't tell you, but you could roll with the "L" key. It provide some i-frame.

Movement: WASD
Confirm/ attack: J
quit/ special1: K . Require cooldown
DO A BARREL ROLL: L
Charge attack: Hold J, until blink, then release button.
special2: Hold K, until blink, then release button. Require cooldown
Ultimate: hold both J and K, release button when blink. Require the yellow ultimate bar to be full.

Change Item: U/O
Use item: I
drop item on ground: Hold I
(There are some quick-key with item, but I never use them)
(All item have independent cool down. Which means you could use healing item A, then use healing item B when A was cooling down)

Pick up weapon on ground: hold J
Use weapon: J
Toss weapon: K
Yes, you cannot use normal attack/ charge/ special attack when holding weapon. This rule do not apply to item.
You may choose to drop your weapon quick, by rolling.

Pick up equipment on ground: K
Pick all up. You could sell the unused one to Nodoka

Open menu with: Esc
You could change equipment, and read the equipment/ item effect here


Some enemy will get a yellow outline. The is what they call "super armor" In that state their attack animation could not be stopped taking damage. However, note the following
1.) It could still take state effect. Proved that enemy could be freeze while having super armor. (Burn and poison unknown)
2.) Still take damage. Unknown if it is full or reduced damage.
3.) Some item which will do knock-down, still function when enemy have super armor

Upgrade price goes up with every level, but cap at lv10, with 2500 coins. Further upgrade cost 2500 coin as well.

I did start my first run as Botan, then fail ~3 times at stage 4. My advise is DO NOT use Botan if you are playing solo. Her special1 has okey radius, but long casting animation. And both charger attack require some-what accurate horizontal alignment, and the worst part was, the attack animation would be cut with any single hit from enermy.

The run I cleared with Nene, was end with the "freeze with charge attack" in head slot, "20% chance to reduce 50% incoming damage" as body slot, and "reduce charge time" in accessory slot.


Some more extra information:
Forest stage, the "saisen box", which is a stage weapon may randomly spawn. use until break, will award you coins.
Beach stage, you will find Ollie head, a grantee unique spawn. Bring it to next sub-stage, where you see a headless Ollie, Press K to drop the head, will reward you with coins.
After clearing the first time, you will have access to 5-more playable characters
If using Botan or "another gun wielding character", DO NOT spam all your bullet. If it reach 0, you will see a reload animation, and being locked in place for ~half second.

The "Tech-based" character is charge attack is strong. As it require a much shorter charge time, and a good cone shape AOE. AND, somehow it prove poison and slow effect. So broke.
