Single track protection circuitry with included turnout control is now available as a self-contained module.

The Automated Single Track (Light) layout with automated turnouts

This is the Automated Single Track (Light) layout with additional automation to set the entrance turnouts correctly for approaching trains. The train detection switch that closes the entrance signal is used to confirm the turnout positions.

There is no operational need for this additional automation, it is for cosmetic purposes only.

When building this automation take care that the remote trigger activators that operate the turnouts do not also operate the single track exit signals, as these activators are designed to affect both turnouts and signals and their default range is fairly large.

This turnout automation can be added to the Heavy Traffic version in the same manner.
