AMD settings to get rid of missing floor bug (last part might also help Nvida)
By Blackfox Kitsune
AMD users are mostly getting this, there are 2 fixes so Nividia crew i'm not sure if this will work for you, but it might still be worth a try. (please remember this is for windows users, i don't know about the mac and linux users, but if you have work arounds please let folks know)

In game graphics setting are optimised towards the Nivid graphics, so us AMD users will find we need to do a bit of tweaking to get things running.

These are the settings that work for AMD users who are running into missing floor textures bug, even if our graphics cards can do a lot better, the game is badly optimised.
Graphics Quality = Custom Display mode (your preference) Screen Resolution (your preference) refresh rate = 60:00Hz Frame rate = Variable Vertical Synchronisation = on Dynamic Resolution = on Fidelity FX Super red 3 = Balanced (or Ultra performance) Dlss Super Resolution = Off (This will turn off ALL Nvida related graphics) Upscale sharpness (Your preference) Ambient Occlusion = SDFAO or SDFAO Screen space Reflections = On Mesh Quality = Max Texture filtering = Medium Trilinear Texture Quality = High 1GB (no higher than 2) Grass/tree quality = high Resource-intense effects quality = high Shadow cache = on Contact shadows = on Motion blur = Off Bloom = On Depth of Field = on Lense flair = on Lense Distortion = On (+chromatic aberration) Subsurface scattering = on Motion Quality = high

Tweaking for both AMD and Nivida users may need to do outside of game:

step 1: find your game EXE file in your steam ap directory.
step 2: click on properties of the exe file and go to compatibility
setp 3: set it to run in win 8 compatibility mode
step 4 test the game.

Hopefully that SHOULD of fixed your issues. good luck and happy gaming.

This helped me get the floor back! But now it seems the surface of different spots in the environment have a blurry/bleeding effect. If you have any ideas how to fix they feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Well this certainly did fix the missing floor for me (AMD user) but now the framerate is so bad that it's lagging consistently and lagging. Still a ways to go.

For Nvida users
quote from Xaro;
1. Validate game files within steam
2. Inside nvidia control panel GLOBAL settings, set shader cache to "unlimited" and save
3. ONLY AFTER you've done the above, delete DD2's shader cache2 file found within the game folder
4. Start the game and let it compile shaders again
5. If it works, don't change anything inside nvidia control panel as for some reason it will break the textures again
