Project 952 'Tempest'

Opis
Project 952 was an experimental vessel sent to Europa as one of Russia's first expeditionary missions to Jupiter's moon. Not long before Earth went dark, the Tempest was scuttled by her crew and left to the depths. After being recovered and retrofitted by the Coalition, she has seen through countless missions... and crews.

952, dubbed 'Tempest' by her most recent captain, comes in two variants; the base, with a cargo bay and moonpool, and the EXP (exploratory), featuring a dock for the 952-A 'Minnow' submersible.

This is my first sub, so all feedback is welcome!

Features:

Burst-Fire Railgun

The Tempest's forward-facing railgun can fire in rapid bursts of 3 shots, with long reload times in between.

The loader also features a priority slot; any shell loaded here will fire first. Handy for nuke misfires!

Boost

Accessible via the nav. terminal, the Tempest can utilize two repurposed shuttle engines to temporarily provide a significant speed increase. However, this drains a large amount of power, and takes a while to recharge.

Reactor Overdrive

Activated by a switch located in the Tempest's command room, the reactor overdrive locks the reactor's fusion and turbine outputs to their max, providing a long-term boost to speed and energy production. When activated, make sure the vessel continues to move forward, as without the engines consuming power, components can overload extremely quickly.

Leaving overdrive on for too long will trigger onboard alarm systems. If ignored, strain on the reactor will lead to catastrophic failure of all onboard systems and cause irreparable damage. You have been warned.

Item Ducts

The Tempest also features an item duct system, allowing for easy transport of materials and equipment throughout the sub.

Searchlights

An alternative to traditional lights on submarine-mounted weapons, the Tempest offers a togglable searchlight array that will automatically track targets outside the sub.

These can be switched on via the navigation officer's terminal in the command room.

Additional Features:
- 2 fabricators
- Deconstructor
- Medical Fabricator
- Mineral Scanner
- Dual depth charge/decoy tubes
- Backup battery array

Alright, I had a look and I believe the flooding was caused by a small hole in the top left of the ballast. It should be patched now

left side of the forward ballast tank is filled with water. this issue does not always occur. its like 50/50. I guess it happens because of the gaps?

"Just as the coalition intended." Glad its being put to good use:steamthumbsup:

Please keep the reactor overdrive included. My crew has repurposed it for tactical meltdowns if our ship ever gets swarmed

If you were having problems too then yeah it was probably an issue with the tags. I was under the impression that as long as the "Picked Required" tags matched with the spawnpoint id tags, they would work? Anyways I changed all the tags to id_*role* like you suggested so fingers crossed that fixes it

I assume you've used the sub in the current patch. I'm not a designer by any means,
But in the editor, you appear to have abbreviations for the roles 'cap' 'med' 'sec' . but for other subs I see the "Picked Required" as things such as : id_medic,id_captain Any sub that has these roles input like this work, but the abbreviations don't appear to work. (unless other people aren't having this issue). I went into the save editor and edited an ID tag to match your abbreviation, and it worked, but couldn't get it to work otherwise.

Most of the secure steel cabinets on the sub are only accessible by certain jobs. For example, the secure cabinet next to the fabricators is reserved for mechanics, etc. If you are on multiplayer and none of your crew hold the required job, you can hire a bot with said job and use their id card to access the cabinet. Hope this helps

@HADN neat sub but none of our players can open secure steel cabinets, any recommendations?

Okie dokie I'll check it next time Im in game btw the ship sails really great and is fun in general except it appears that sometimes the junction overload causing the ship explode when docking or undocking but asides from that it's loads of fun to play on Tempest
