Barrel Bombs do a static amount of damage, regardless of where they are placed. You may be tempted to place them near the head of monsters once they are incapacitated, (I.E. Asleep, Paralyzed, etc.) but don't be fooled! The only thing placing Barrel Bombs near the head will do is make your heavy weapon teammates hate you.

Heavy weapon hunters need to hit that head to deal maximum damage, and if a Barrel Bomb is in said place the only thing they'll hit is a massive explosion that knocks them back and awakens the monster from it's state. As a GS main there's nothing more annoying than lining up my TCS and having someone place a Barrel Bomb straight in my path. Once I line up my TCS, there's nothing I can do other than attack or shoulder charge forward, both of which will activate the Barrel Bomb.

So please, be considerate to your fellow hunters and stop placing Barrel Bombs right in the line of fire!
