Introduction
Hello!

My name is Smashwutz and I have played Dwelvers since not long after it was released. Back then it was very very early alpha and didnot have alot of features, but now it's a whole new ball game!

In this guide what you can expect;
- Basic explaination to the main screen and menus
- Explaination of how to build rooms
- What certain icons mean
- A video showing my doing all this on my youtube channel

This is for people that are confused or have questions, I have put a small FAQ at the end which has some answers to questions I had!
Basic gameplay
Right now onto the guide;

This is the first screen you should see when entering the world, the numbers correspond as below;

1. The Dark Mother - This is you, sorta, he/she runs the dungeon and if attacked and dies your game is over. Monsters are spawned from her and she has unlimited item storage.
2. Storage around the darkmother, this is where most resources get taken to before being redistributed around your dungeon.
3. Drop off flag, in each room you can designate a "drop off" point where resources will be left for the room worker to pickup from, it's best to have this close to the entrance of the room to minimise travel.
4. Fog of war, this is where the rest of the undiscovered dungeon is, you can only see a max of 3 space away from your wall, and also mine 3 spaces away, so no long tunnels into the void!
5. The cursor! This will mainly be a pick, but essentially it is where things happen from
6. Minion list, this shows you how many of each minion you have, how happy they are and when theyw ill next be produced. It also flashes red if there is a fight going on with one of them.
7. Overworld view (Not currently ingame)
8. Room build, this is where all your production comes from, you must lay down the room "floor" each room has a separate purpose. There is not "minimum" size but I would recommend no less than 3x3 sized room, 4x4 if possible. See section 2 for more detail.
9. Other buildables, such as wells or dirt blocks, they are not rooms but can be accessed through here
10. Hydraulics, for making traps, they require Iron so you won't use them at the start.
11. Decoration blocks, for making your dungeon look pretty, or ugly as dungeons are!
12. Spells list, only 2 currently, posses minion and sight spell. The possess monster is to be able to see and control your minion in first person, and still be tweaked. The sight spell is very useful as it temporaily reveals the fog of war in an area with a ~5 second cooldown.
13. Sell tool, if you don't like a floor, room or block, sell it with this!
14. Rotate tool, allow you to rotate a building, useful if you build it next to a wall as some room tiles require specific entry points
15. Pick or spade icon; confusing at first but pick icon for walls on the same level as you, spade for digging down, if one does't work try the other using space bar to switch!
16. Minimap, green are friendly, red is enemies (and neutrals) also shows room tiles and dungeon walls.
17. Monster icon, see section 3. Overview of your minions.
18. Item window, see section 4, all your resources and trading
19. Quick resources, shows you how much of each resource you have, only has the main ones, bread, fish beer and building material
20. Overall dungeon needs, Dark mother health, how tired your minions are, how hungry and how thristy, all green is all good.
21. Action messages, these will show up when something occurs, like a fight or creatures being produced.

This is all fairly explainatory but some sections I have expanded on.

Room Building
Ok now when you open the room build icon, you get the following options 1-9. **All rooms required 1 imp minimum to maintain and more when they get bigger**

1. Bar room: This is where your minions, especially the ones who fight eat and get drunk, if there is not a supply of food and beer your minions will eventually die out. Inside the bar you may place Square or round tables and barstools. Do this by right clicking on a full built barroom tile and chosing the item required.

2. Sleeping Room: This is where all your minions will sleep. Each type of minion requires a different type bed, but luckily they dont need their own bed, they will share! To start with you'll only need 2-3 imp beds and 2-3 orc beds eventually. Build these by right clicking on a constructed bedroom tile

3. Cookery Room: Here is where the food and drink is made! Once constructed you will need to build a bread making table and beer vat. This will give you bread and beer. Beer requires water from a Well, which will also need to be built and bread which requires a farm and the "antroot" which is wheat sorta :)

4.Farm tile: Construct farmland for your imps to toil in and make you "Antroot" and to grind it into flour! You will need this to make into bread, to farm you will need a nearby well for water.

5. Metalworks room: A more advanced room, this is used to smelt iron, make weapons and tailor items, no point building this until you have your basic rooms working and are finding lots of iron. A well is required neearby

6. Prison room: When you start crushing your enemies heres where the dying prisoners go, once in here they slowly die off, and I beleive that gives a bonus to your dungeon, or you can feed a prisoner to your dark mother by right clicking on the prisoner, this will speed up future production of the certain type of enemy.

7. Storage room: Even though your DM room has unlimited space it's not always convient to keep it there and you can have a storage room for items to be taken to for central storage. Right clicking allows you to build a variety of storage shelfs

8. Trade room: When you discover portals to the overworld or traderoutes you will require a trade room to get access to the rooms. You build a trade stall with right click and ensure the "inpur" to them is not obstructed (The blue arrow when you click to place it) then right click and the big "I" allows you to pick a trade route. When you enter your item screen you can queue trade orders.

9.Training room, if you ant your minions to level up and fight hard you need one of these. Punching pigs and dart boards help build their level up.

------------

Miscellaneous rooms:

There are other items, not rooms per say, they do not require a specific room to be built but can require other factors;

1. Mine, requires coal iron or gold below it, will slowly mine out the resource giving a constant slow supply of it, instead of using the resource up if mined.

2. Dungeon Floor, thats it a floor, use it to fill holes or make steps up and down with.

3. Stairs, self explainitory.

4. Orc statue, increase the moral or your minions.

5. Well - Very important, try to build these close to rooms that require them.

6. Floating platform, used to fish off if you have fisherman minions and cross water.

7. Door, used to separate your dungeon and stop invades, or at least slow invaders down.
Information Screens
At the top of the screen are two small buttons, the red devil and the trade pouch. First the devil;

Brings up this screen, which shows you in detail states of your minions as well as allowing you to equip them with armor. It helps you give them the armor and gear they need as well as to see issues and stats of them.

The pouch gives you this;

This is where you can see *all* your resources, including items and rarer items. This screen allows for you to track by graph incoming items or going items. Clicking on the item itself will give you more information.

Items below can be created through this window if you have the ability to craft them. This is how you make new weapons and armor.

The trade section is more advanced but once the routes are setup here you queue your orders.

Information;

Clicking on certain rooms with right click and then the big "I" will let you see further information about the room, here is the DM screen,

which shows you items and minions. The Workload shows you how much there is to do, if it is near 100% you should consider making bigger rooms and more workstations.
F.A.Q's
Right thats the basic rundown here I've put some quick Q & A's;

Q: How do I mine??
A: Select the pickaxe or shovel and click the area you wish to mine, the square will turn green/blue and your minions will start to mine it.

Q: How do I get more minons?
A: As you make more dungeon and collect resources your number of minions will grow, I belive imps are tile spaces in your dungeon and orcs are based of amount of coal you have. I could be wrong tho! If you are mining and expanding you will get the imps you need, just keep them fed and watered.

Q: Why can't I get wood?!
A: Wood is shown by the red roots in the walls, it can often be the hardest thing to find, yo have to try and mine as much as you can see! Or trade for it, there is a good trade for 1 stone = 1 wood.

Q: Why can't I get other fighting creatures?
A: For most creatures you need to discover their "rooms" the first you'll meet is likely to be "impanzees" then once they are part of your dungeon the DM will spit them out when you get the resource they need.

Q: What size should I make my rooms?
A: 3x3 minimum, being honest 4x4 or 5x5 is better for future expansion.

Q: They won't farm!
A: IS a well near, is there a mill near, is there access in and out of the farm area, if not build a gate.

Q: They won't bake?!
A: Is there water for beer, and antroom in storage/DM room to cook with.

Q: Whats the icon of an imp sweating red?
A: It means you need to expand that room.

Q:How do I build weapons?
A: You need a metalsmith and often need to find the item in chests first then you can make them

Q: I can't mine this viny rock
A: Thats hard stone, you an remove that, it has thin brown vine son it, go around it!

Q: How do I hydraulics
A: Watch my let's play it shows that (EP 5)

Nice guide. Plus you have over 2 hours of The Let's Play videos you link to at the bottomby you that are VERY HELPFUL in getting to see how the game plays if one doesn't own it yet. Only saw part of the first so far, and I am astounded by how good the game so far looks, which is a revelation to me. Clear guide, like many video reviewers LOL, you sort of try to do too much too fast and make mistakes, plus find it harder to put your mouse and mouth working, but still they are informative and showcase lots of important stuff. I'm going to look at all of them and then decide if I buy this or not. Much appreciate the effort, thanks.
