How to change the resolution to 1920*1080
911:First responders (aka Emergency 4) doesn't support wide screen. So menu items will be streched a lot.
Also it doesn't seem to scale the UI with it, so the UI will take in a large portion of the screen. I have no fix for this.

To enable Widescreen, go to the folder where you have the game installed. (steamapps/common/911 First Responders), look for a file called em4.cfg
Open this with a text editing program (eg. MS Word, Notepad, Wordpad).

Press CTRL+F and search for. "<var name="r_xres" value=" (Without " ").
What you will find is.
---
<var name="r_xres" value="*your resolution" />
<var name="r_yres" value="your resolution" />
--
Where your resolution is written you will see the numbers, This is the resolution that the game currently is in.

Change the xres (top line of the 2) to 1920
then Change the Yres (bottom line of the 2) to 1080
Save file and close.
Now start up the game and it will be in widescreen.

Other resolutions
If your screen is in a different resolution to 1920*1080, just change the numbers at the xres and yres.
xres is the resolution along the x-axis (Horizontal), Yres vor the Y-axis (vertical).
If you don't know what your resultion is, Go to your desktop, Right click with the mouse and select 'screenresolution' And look at the number it gives you behind 'resolution' The first number you put behind xres and the second number behind yres.

Good luck.

Doesn't seem to be working, the game hard defaults to 1280 x 1024, even if i use lower numbers in the config and set it to read only!

DON'T use Ms Word or Wordpad to edit a coding or config file!!!! That is HORRIBLE ADVICE!
This also doesn't address scaling issues changing resolution through a config file can cause.

I just got a new razer blade and was having issues with the screen resolution as well. When I went into the .cfg and set mine to 1920x1080 is was really zoomed in but I found a fix!

-Right click em4.exe
-click compatibility tab
-click "change high DPI settings"
-select High DPI scaling override performed by application

This worked for me, hopefully work for those of you also struggling!
