Introduction
Welcome! In this guide I'll show you how to give yourself a unique, colored name!
You've likely seen this online already, and it's surprisingly easy to do!

After reading this guide, you'll be able to apply colors to both your username and your class names in a matter of seconds. (:
Changing Your Username
To edit your username, simply click your profile in the top right of the screen to access your profile, inside your profile click on your username to change it as normal.

Now, before entering your desired username, type <color=SELECT> and replace "SELECT" with one of the following:
  • white
  • black
  • grey
  • red
  • green
  • blue
  • lightblue
  • green
  • orange
  • yellow
  • purple

You can also use ANY hex code you want! Just use the format: #FFFFFF in place of "SELECT" in the above example and your username will change to that hex code. For example, if I wanted to use a more pink-hued red vs pure red, I could type <color=#E31440> and replace it with a different shade.

The end result should look like this:

As a heads up, there is a 25-character limit on usernames in Combat Master – so when you're using this you're going to be limited in how long your name can be. For example, using one of the hex codes means you only have 10 additional characters to type your actual name..

So use this wisely! The colors with shorter names such as red or grey allow you a bit more leeway, but you're still severely limiting your character count with this method.
Changing Your Username (Short Version)
There's an even shorter way to change your name!

Simply type <#FFF> and replace FFF with the 3-digit hex code of your choice, and the text field will let you type in colors as well! This is much shorter, so it allows you to color your username and still have a bunch of room for your username.

You can find a large list of colors available in this 3-digit hex code format here.[borderleft.com]

For example, if I wanted to use red but wanted a longer name, I could type:
"<#F00>nickname"

And it would allow me to have a red username, but keep 19 characters free instead of only 14 with the longer command.

Changing Your Class Names
Changing your class names is just as easy!

Simply head to your class selection screen, then click and hold on your desired class – I find this works best while clicking directly on the class name.

Two options should pop out – "Name Class" and "Make Favorite" (If this class is already your favorite, there will only be one box.)

Now of course, just click on "Name Class" and type your desired class name using the same method as above!

"<color=*> Class Name"

I haven't checked the character limit for the class names, but I'm sure there is one, so this will reduce your character count while renaming classes as well!

HEADS UP!
Just a couple heads up about this particular method, the first one I've already mentioned a couple times but using this method WILL take up characters in the 25-character limit in your username.

Since the closing bracket makes the color code disappear, you may end up with an even further reduced name if you try to change your color without leaving the name-change menu and returning. It's hard to tell if you've erased the code, since it makes the text invisible, so just double check that you're clearing the field before trying to swap colors.

The main issue with this method, though, is that it makes you harder to search on the leaderboard or while someone is trying to add you as a friend. Everything you type into the username field is technically your username, so even though it may appear on your screen as just "Luke" in green, your full username would be "<color=green>Luke" and that's exactly what your friend would have to type in to add you, or to search you on the leaderboard.

None of this is game-breaking, but I just wanted to warn anybody, as especially the adding a friend bit could be annoying to deal with if you weren't thinking about it!
Special Thanks
Special thanks to MISSING, who made the original colored name guide that my homie put me on to even find out how to do this in the first place!

Please show his original guide some love, as without it I couldn't have put out this updated guide.
It was thanks to his original post and the commenters adding on to it that I could compile this full guide, so thanks to everyone who left a comment there!

Thanks for reading, have fun changing your colors and giving your names and classes their own unique flair!
