It happened consistently whenever I talked to the sbopkeeper until I loaded my game, and it didn't happen anymore.

Just got poisoned by a scorpion and checked the shop again and couldn't recreate it. It's the medicine shop on the 2nd island, with the desert+scorpions.

This is a weird one ... are you able to reproduce it? I'm guessing it's some particular, unlikely sequence that occurred.
