p.s. If there is no resolution option, change it once in the game to any, and when you exit, the option should appear. :)

Maybe you should first delete the dbghelp.dll file from the folder where the game is installed

I try to run Generals for the first time after purchasing and installing it. When I click to play the tittle page comes on my screen but the game never launches. Foor info, I did the same with Red Alert 3 and it works perfectly. Why won't GEnerals work??

For those who can't get the resolution working through the options.ini file, bring up the Properties of the game in Steam, go to the "General" section, go to the bottom of that section and add the following launch options: "-quickstart -xres 3840 -yres 2160" (change the values for your desired resolution). The "quickstart" option skips the intro videos and goes straight to the menu.

Works great here, and might also want to add:

-win

In steam properties of the game to change it to windowless :aoahelicopter:

Tried multiple times, doesnt work. Defaults to 800x600, Shows no 1920x1080 option, changing it to anything else, changes the resolution in options, Rinse, repeat, no difference

I also add that it is NECESSARY to delete the DBGHELP file because it causes the dirext 8.0 error

GenTool doesn't work for this Steam release, I tried.
