Winning in Zero Distance
Welcome Freedom Fighter,

Our situation is dire and the invading occupation army is strong, but we have courage, we are the resistance, and this is our home.

To win in Zero Distance you need to defeat twenty waves of enemies and upgrade your character and weapons between waves. Your primary resource is money which is dropped by defeated soldiers and by items and vehicles that have a yellow triangle above them.

In Zero Distance you don’t get hurt by touching an enemy, rather enemies fire bullets or lay mines and you need to avoid those. Eventually it becomes difficult to avoid those bullets and that is where armour, health, regeneration, and speed upgrades become important.

Another important resource in Zero Distance are toolboxes. These have a 50% chance of being dropped by enemies and by objects that have a yellow triangle above them. Use your collected toolboxes to upgrade the firepower of your friendly ute. You stand near the ute to transfer toolboxes to it.
Earn money
To get more money as fast as possible select the Rogue character upgrade to increase the number of dollars gained for every note picked up. Try to get Epic character upgrades because you can only buy five character upgrades per wave at the shop. To get Epic character upgrades you need to upgrade your Luck so look out for those character upgrades as well.

If there is a money well in the level then you can upgrade that by standing near to it. Every five seconds it will generate cash which your character will pickup when close enough.
Increase your fire power
To gain more fire power as fast as possible you need money and you need to buy more weapons. You have a carry capacity and each weapon has a mass and that is what limits how many weapons your character can carry.

See carry capacity at the top right of the image below.

To upgrade your firepower you can select a relevant character upgrade weapon skill which then applies a percentage bonus to all weapons in that class, for example all pistol type weapons.

To further upgrade your firepower buy the weapon level ups and these apply to all weapons of that specific type, for example the Small Pistol level up will level up all Small Pistols in your inventory and any future ones if your were to buy more.

To upgrade your firepower even further you can buy attachments for your weapon and these are definitely worth getting and give a serious boost to your weapons.
Other tips
You can hide behind barriers and move barrels to help buy yourself a few seconds. These structures block enemy bullets and will block your bullets that only have a piercing value of one. When you have upgraded your weapons they will most likely have a piercing value in the multiple and therefore your bullets can pass through these barriers. Weapons that explode are not affected by obstructions and are area of effect based.

You can toggle between FPS and Top Down perspective by pressing the Tab key. FPS perspective can be useful if you want to concentrate your firepower directly in front of you. Shooting is automatic just like in Top Down perspective but instead your bullets will only by directed at enemies that are in front of you.

You can sell weapons and buy other weapons. You get 65% of the money spent on that weapon, including attachments, back so its not a bad idea if you want to change your weapon layout in a play through. Just remember that your carry capacity limits what you can carry. See bottom right of the image below.
Good luck defeating the terrorising invading army Freedom Fighter!
