To achieve a high score, you'll need to use your abilities effectively.

1. Power
   It is the cheapest ability, so use it more often than others. It can help when fruits block you from combining matching ones. However, sometimes the game's physics allow you to combine them without using the ability. Therefore, don't overuse it.
   
2. Level up
   My favorite skill, because it can rescue you in most situations. However, its initial cost is 50 points and increases rapidly, so use it only in critical situations, when other skills are much more expensive and you can't combine fruits otherwise. More often you should use it on a honeymelon to combine it with an adjacent watermelon.
   
3. Destroy
   Also good skill, which starting cost is 50 points, so use it on large fruits only, if there is no much space left and you can't combine large fruits in the near future. Prioritize Destroy over Level Up when its cost is lower or comparable.

If an ability's cost becomes too high, consider using others instead. Combining two watermelons typically grants you about 1,000 points. If you use too many abilities, you'll start losing points instead of gaining them.

Learn to play without using abilities. You might think I'm crazy because this point contradicts the past. In fact, it doesn't. As I said earlier, you can't achieve a really high score, if you use abilities too often. That's why I sincerely recommend you to play some time without using them at all. This should help you differentiate between situations when using skills is necessary or not.
For example, you can overcome the blocking fruit just by applying pressure with new fruits. Or you can move a fruit to another place by dropping a new fruit at a certain angle.

The best way to move fruits (especially large ones) is using energy of fruits combination.

When a fruit is in a confined space and combines into the next, larger fruit, it can push away those adjacent to it quite strongly. If the fruit is thrown up high enough and stays above the screen for a long enough, it will turn into a golden fruit and destroy the first fruits it encounters. You can achieve this with Power ability as well.

You should be wary of situations where the watermelon is in the center. In other words, avoid placing fruits on both sides of the honeymelon/watermelon, as this leaves very limited space for future maneuvers. When you combine fruits to the new honeymelon, it will be either to the right or to the left of the centered watermelon. The second one will be on the opposite side, so you won't combine them to a watermelon.

Combining a third honeymelon in this situation is risky and likely requires using an ability. Therefore, it is better to place the fruits this way:

Rushing can cause fruit misplacement. However, this game is about planning, so having information about next fruit can hardly be overestimated. When you combine two watermelons (or upgrade a watermelon using level up skill), you gain a 5-minute bonus, revealing the next two fruits after the current one. This information greatly helps to choose a right place for the fruit.
