Jokes aside, Try to maximize your uptime on casting. Afterall you are a caster.
I was recently trying to determine why Pubbie DPS were so bad at BLM. This is what i came up with. That they werent casting enough.

I don't know what p4s are but neat that its even slightly useful. I haven't played in years I just like leaving this up to show how different the game is now.

Keep in mind that if the amount of mana is changed then the rotation would be different obviously. Back then we had a specific amount of mana, I think you guys have like 9999 now at all times.

I specifically dislike that rotation and have not seen anyone do it in such a way as to increase DPS, I believe it has been shown to be statistically better on paper, but I have not seen the returns in practice. And you lose out on a full fire or two on your rotation by opening in that way. Which obviously means you are missing out on potentially two fire threes.

But I play PLD now so what do I know? Not very much. My BLM is I110 and I haven't played it since T9, And I can hardly say that beating bad I130 BLM at DPS is an accomplishment.

Open: thunder 1 / 2, fire 3, fire until you have enough left for Flare, convert, swiftcast, flare, transpose, blizard 1, thunder 1 / 2, fire 3, fire again (convert will be on cooldown use blizzard 3 or transpose until then), through thunder 3 when buff pops, rinse and repeat.
