In my game as teutonic I kept sending all the trade into the baltic, it was insane the amount of cash I was making. I had over 90-95% of the trade, and with the embargo vs the ottomans you could see how badly constantinople node was doing since all trade flowed north or stopped flowing into ottos.

4 merchants by 1650 is terrible, mate. Your biggest advantage from all that eastern territory is turning it all into trade companies for merchants and less coring costs. Specially the steppe, lots of low dev provinces not even worth coring.
