"Since Valve refuses to give an option to disable Steam Input globally, Special K can now completely disable Steam from having any access to input devices at all. No longer will they screw up your DualSense controller's HID Output Report state (haptics, lights, power saving mode, gyro config) when you have Steam Input _supposedly_ turned off.

Steam flat-out cannot touch the damn controller anymore, good riddance. This eliminates Steam's meddling with guide button, prevents it from blocking native input APIs to games, overall it just makes buying games on Steam much safer because now you don't have to worry about being forced to run the games YOU OWN through a client emulator just get to get input working in them. You can keep the rest of Steamworks functionality, while maintaining the ability to use your gamepad.

This is HUGE, because Valve won't refund you for any games that their otherwise undefeatable Steam Input garbage breaks. I honestly don't know how that's legal, but we've got protection from Steam Input breaking our entire purchased game library that requires the Steam client for DRM finally.

Though I have never encountered issues yet (K&M user here), I'm happy that there is someone working on it for the benefit of everyone. Thanks, Kaldaien :steamthis:

Also, all the anime girls in bikinis all over his Steam profile is the icing on the cake. If only he spent as much time reading useful stuff than screenshot/download anime girls in bikini pics...

Sometimes I think, it must be nice to be so gullible and lost like this Shaun person below. He can read (or not read) a whole description about why Steam input is garbage and he is still living his best life thinking he knows everything :shit:

Your hate for Steam Input is ridiculous, most users don't ever encounter any of the issues you have with it.
I run Steam with admin rights so using SK is not possible, I wouldn't want Steam Input to be disabled anyways as it is very useful.
