Cast your line into the water, make sure you hear the splash sound and the pole is doing the regular swaying thing.
Press H to bring up the help menu and wait for exclamation point to pop over your head.

It will stay frozen like this till you hit H again so make sure your ready to click Set Hook! immediately after you press H.
