Introduction
Recommendations for P&R 2024
After a year and a half I am preparing to make my guide translated into Spanish to reach more people.
Hello, I am a frequent player of P&R, and I really think it's a good game. However, I believe that with these recommendations, it could become even more realistic than it already is. I hope this recommendation reaches the creators of this game and serves them well in improving their game.
Budget
In my country, at the beginning of the year, a budget is defined to know how much will be spent. It includes growth expectations, inflation, and the desired deficit. Just as they do with annual meetings on zero CO2 emission goals, it would also be good if they did the same with the budget. This would involve what I mentioned earlier and the ability to define how much money to allocate to each ministry.

Taxation
It would be good to apply the Laffer curve, which according to the internet is a tool that allows knowing, through empirical evidence, the tax rate that allows maximum revenue considering the elasticity of taxpayers to changes in the tax rate. In addition to being able to raise or lower taxes for certain sectors, for example, VAT, being able to lower or raise VAT for the beef sector. Also, having the power to create "special economic zones" aimed at attracting investments to sparsely populated areas. Adding the ability to define the "minimum non-taxable amount," meaning that a salary above $16 would be considered low income and taxed at the low bracket, and so on for all brackets.
Currency
These recommendations are based on the economic ideology of the Austrian school, simply stating that inflation is determined by monetary issuance. Additionally, I would add the ability to determine the independence of the central bank and appoint its president.
Officials
In the officials section, I would add some way to give benefits to companies for hiring state employees to reduce public spending. I would also add what in my country are called collective bargaining agreements, which automatically defines the percentage increases in wages.
Economy
In this area, there isn't much to add. What comes to mind is listing the most important companies in each sector, stating how many employees they have, how much they pay, and in how many provinces they have factories. I would also add the indicator of "foreign direct investment," which according to the internet is the placement of long-term capital somewhere in the world for the creation of agricultural, industrial, and service companies with the purpose of internationalization. Another thing to add is the risk premium, which according to the internet is the extra cost that a country has to pay to finance itself, i.e., the surcharge that investors will demand to buy debt from a country with a risky asset; Therefore, the greater the instability, the higher the risk premium. Lastly, the consumer price index: The consumer price index or consumer price index (commonly referred to by its acronym CPI) is an economic index that values the prices of a certain set of goods and services (known as the "family basket" or "basic food basket") determined on the basis of the continuous survey of family budgets (also called the "household expenditure survey"), which a quantity of consumers regularly acquires, and the variation with respect to the price of each one, regarding to previous sample. It measures changes in the price level of a basket of goods and services consumed by households. It is a percentage that can be positive (indicating an increase in prices) or negative (reflecting a fall in prices).
Security
There is a lot to do in this area. What comes to mind is enacting laws to define the limits that police officers have to act against criminals, what weapons they can use on the streets, creating divisions to combat more serious crimes that regular police cannot solve, and defining sentences for crimes and the age of criminal responsibility.
Justice
Defining whether prisons can be private, public, or mixed, defining the treatment of prisoners, what they are fed, and whether they are subjected to forced labor or not.
Immigration
I would add work visas and that immigration increases or decreases depending on the economic situation of the country.
Military
Establishing models of (fictional) aircraft instead of grouping them by stars, adding armored vehicles and artillery, and defining what equipment, rifles, and pistols your army uses.
Health-Education
I put these sections together because with both, I would do more or less the same. I would enact a law to establish whether the state is solely responsible for education and health, whether it is mixed or entirely private and not dependent on state funding. The safer the country is for doing business, the more high-quality schools and clinics there are in the country (that would be the variable).
Employment
Average salary indicator, seeing how many people have low, medium and high incomes, knowing their income and indicating in the income table what percentage of the population has that income. Create a social assistance section and be able to define for which sector, what the requirements are, for how long and the more economic growth there is, the more people come out of poverty and no longer need the benefit of economic aid.
Conclusion
These are my recommendations, mainly economical. I hope they can be implemented. I know there is also economic thinking in those variables that some people may not agree with, but hey, these are my thoughts, and I reiterate, in my opinion, if my recommendations were applied, this game would be better and more realistic. Eversim, if you are interested in these recommendations, you can contact me at my email rinaldifrancisco09@gmail.com to deepen or clarify the variables of each indicator. Thank you very much for reading these recommendations.
