MAU, THE FIZZING FRENZY, DROPS FRESHLY INTO RIVALS OF AETHER

A rebellious spirit and self proclaimed Ranno fangirl, Mau was a simple lizard working at the Julesvale Soda factory until catching wind of Badger Co’s nefarious plan to expand their empire.



Mau is a tricky Grappler with slow movement speed and a strong combo game. Her game plan is to maneuver her bubble to enable combo extensions, strong finishers and improved recoveries.

Forward Special: Fizzing Grapple

A dash forward followed up by a grab. Once in the grab state, Mau has 4 throws to choose from. Up, Down, Forward, and Back, each with their own properties so lab to your heart's content!

Neutral Special: Can Toss

Throws a soda can projectile that goes in an arc, Mau can determine the height of the arc by holding or tapping the special button. Mau can hit the special button again after the can is thrown to make it burst instantly. Upon exploding the can spawns a bubble.

Bubble



Maus bubble is very similar to Rannos, however it integrates quite differently into her kit. Much like Ranno’s it can be used to extend combos however its main function is to enhance Maus throws from Fizzing Grapple. Once Mau throws a bubbled opponent the throw will become much more powerful. Another feature of the bubble is that Mau is able to enter the bubble herself with Uspecial or Dspscial and control it for a short amount of time, afterwards the bubble will explode with a powerful hitbox.

Quirks

-Grounded Dspcial can be jump canceled

-Uspcial has a tap and hold function, if Mau holds the button she will perform a downwards spiking throw

-Fully charging Dstrong will spawn a bubble

-Fstrong may ring a bell for those familiar with the question "Are you Okay?"

Thank you for the character update!
It seems that the maximum binding time of the bubble is 150F, but as the damage increases, the maximum value of the bar and the fast time become inconsistent.

This character is amazing! I love the way she plays. It's a shame that the bubble doesn't seem to improve throws, as it does the same damage and doesn't seem to change anything.

The interactions side-special have with the AI are... intriguing. The way that anything that interrupts an off-stage grab, including teching out of being grabbed??? immediately puts you into full fall momentum, no gradient, is frustrating.
