When the wind is againt you (in your face), it will naturally generate more backspin on the ball.
If the wind is in your favour (on your back), it will naturally generate more roll.
This is very important to take into account.
If you're using a SW, 80yards to the green and you're using a Finesse shot, with the pin long at the back of the green and heavy wind in your face... then you willl have to keep your ball as low as possibile, because even if your ball would land near the pin, it would have ton of backpin and fall of very, very short.
This is because high ball trajectory creates backspin. Also wind in your face does, so there are 2 factors that create backspin.
The other factor is again, elevation. If it's downhill, it will favour rolll. If you're playing uphill, the ball will naturally have some backspin when hitting the ground.
Elevation. If uphill, you need to hit it further, and viceversa.
Wind, I guess it's self explanatory.
Contact: You need to hit 100% power.
If you hit it 105% and you are at 150yards, your shot will actually land at 157yards. Then if it'd downhill and wind at your back, that shot can easily travel 170+.
You also need to learn that every shot has a flight arc which is more or less influenced by Elevation and Wind.
A high flight ball path will be more influenced by wind, and less by elevation.
For a low flight ball path, it's the opposite.
This is true in two ways. The first, the individual character's flight ball path that you can decide when customizing your character.
The second, and most important, is the club selection.
A 4 Iron will have a much much lower flight path than a 9 Iron, and so you have to take into account the differences.
Low flight ball path means way more roll.
Mine are either way too short or way too long.
Can not get any balls close to the pin.
If you somehow manage to flick it right and get low speed, then you can slower the swing speed too but honestly I tried and it works best with fastest.
