this has "starter villian" by John Scalzi vibes.

I just got this game, the week of Feb 1st 2024 it's free on epic.
They don't have achievements over there, but its a way to get the game to play for free.
but buy it here because then you encourage them to make more games!

I plan to make this as I play it!

I have other things going on in my life, so you are likely to get a handful of levels thrown up and then nothing for a while. Want me to focus on the game? throw pennies at me , and outside of school work, i'll make this a bigger priority. (Learning Japanese and ASL comes before playing games, not sorry)

But for various reasons, I don't like video walk troughs, even if the person is very nice and has each level timestamped.

I will put hints to how to solve ( prob with snark) and then, maybe, the actual solution behind a spoiler.

i also plan on sharing all the gem and note locations, behind a Spoiler text

Let me just give you some really basic hints that should work for the whole game (i'm not done beating it, so i'm not 100% sure but so far)

try to move EVERYTHING! a tool will go away once you don't need it any more. if you still have the tool, try to figure out where else it can go. - sometimes the tool will need to be picked back up to use it again.

also, just because you put the doodad on the whatchamacallit it, doesn't mean you are done interacting with it. If something doesn't automatically happen, try moving the doodad yourself!

The game seems to sometimes let you revisit areas that you are done with. but if it doesn't let you revisit the area you have gotten everything.

as of right now i'm not sure if there is really a point to collecting all the gems and scrolls. Its just loot, I like loot :D you can replay the levels if you missed these items.

and just so you know, the sections names are broken down like this:

There ARE achivements, and if i notice them, I will tell you!

The game is going to offer to hold your hand. But they are really nice and you can tell them to shut up i mean, turn off the tutorial. Dont worry, if you need a hint to what they recommend you trying to figure out next, there is absolutely a show hint when you click the thing in the bottom right corner. However, once you are in the puzzle they think you should work on, they dont show a further hint, but you can skip the puzzle!

Okay, you're not COMPLETELY on your own, but its not trying to hold your hand anymore, or maybe that is just because I told it to shut up.... but you have me, that's good enough right? right... yeah sure...

in case it isn't obvious, the doors on the side WANT to be opened, you have to unlatch them, then they pop up to give you more doors so you can open stuff!

this level i also found pretty easy! really the biggest annoyance was figuring out the gear and the bird cage as well as the crowbar on the box. Maybe move a rug off a box???

so first things first, i see a sledgehammer... but no watermelon, boo.... at least i get to break stuff! and OOOO a bucket, do we get to kick it? no? sigh fine.... saying all that, see if you can figure out how to fetch a pail of water, apparently you are at the top of a hill

okay, if you haven't read an of my other guides, I'm a weirdo, and insert random stuff to amuse myself. I'm annoyed there isn't a text only guide, so i'm going to make this, that being said, I'm gonna do it however I feel like...

See this picture? look really close at the area behind the thing with the buckets.... hmm, that looks like stuff on the buckets... maybe line them up with water?

okay, so the thing on top of the door is a clue on how to solve the lock.. basically match the inside colors, who cares about the outside ones!

split the wood, grab the number one and LIGHT THINGS ON FIRE!!! :D
when you spin things back around there is a slide game, put those pieces next to their likeness and you get a clue on how to solve the door!

this does have gears and an engine, a really nice simple one. I hope it gets more complex down the road.

so grab the wheel on the floor and click the mailbox. If you can't tell, the colors don't quite match the outside... click around and fix that maybe?

but the machine needs lightbulbs, and there is instructions on the ground, you need something, maybe you can find after the door is fixed.

there is a box you haven't been able to open until after the machine works, and put them indoor and simply turn :D

okay, so one of my biggest (and dumbest) phobias is things under pressure. I get this is a game, I get that it cant hurt me.... it still made me squirm

.... i remember in the navy someone tried to make me run to every shop and ask for a bucket of steam... FYI, you cant have a bucket of steam x.x please spin the stupid wheel and make it stop.

the door has something aout letters and numbers and there is a pipe game... I'll give you a spoiler in case you struggle with it

I felt so dumb once I saw how to solve the puzzle... that being said, it did show me that there isn't a text only guide for this game and that isn't acceptable, so a purchase and started over. Here we are, right now 5 levels at a time cause I do have other things I have to do...

while i found a lot of this stuff easy, watching the video I thought maybe I should give you a spoiler to the mr crab looking one and explain how to solve it.



okay, tell the clicky thing to look at the left eye and then add pressure, now tell the clickie thing to point to the right eye and hit the switch places

... just spin until the red bars go up and it opens... i was only turning just one cycle

but once you use the rag on the ... periscope? the look in while your under water and it shows you above water thingie... if you have done everything you are gonna see three pictures that you can use on the door to release the kracken i mean open the door...

there was one puzzle that really gave me pause

it took me a minute to a remember it was there x.x and b, to actually solve it.



once you solve the ball puzzles behind the rock, youc an figure out the code to the door

OOO, still in Asia, YAY. also, I actually had to think about some of this stuff, which is AWESOME

simply clicking around isn't quite going to do the trick, there is a lantern you have to spin to get a thing you need.

This level... this level was a bit frustrating. If you have never used a hand pump before to get water you need to do it as fast as you can, I promise, it does fill stuff up.

the thing you really really need to solve the level is in the attic! one side gets you the item, the other side lets you use the item.

When the tree gets tall, you get the achievement!

Balance is nice! so the yin yang is actually a matching game, go play! both sides! it opens doors to where they hid the tea set that you need to find the hammer to hit the gong, to get the key that hopefully you made an opening for :D but first you need a sword, wait, who in their right mind is gonna trust you with a sharp pointy thing, what are you, a grain of salt?

I guess they thought you did good enough with the last sharp owie, they give you 4 more. I'm still not sure that this was the best move but okay.

yeah so, hickory dickory doc... the lens comes off the clock, the door opens too, for something new, hickory dickory doc

so spin the door around and play with the alter, then maybe go put a lens on a thing and sticks in holes... but you have to figure out just how deep is okay....



when you get it in just right and line up everything you get an achievement. Give me credit here, i could have made this sound a lot more perverted.

other than grabing the diamonds, I wasn't quite sure what to do with this level for a little bit. To be fair, my sugar gliders were doing a good job of demanding my attention while i tried to do this level...

Dont bother mucking with the torches, they are fixed in place, but those flags do come down... the lock on the door doesn't want to be played with right now... fine fine...

once you put the diamonds away you get a thing but here does that go? an purfume? what am i going to do with that? its not like lipstick on the mirror is it?

maybe put a thing on the roof? and then a code? but the flags are wrong?! why wasn't there a quality check???? when i make stuff I make sure its right before sending to client!

you have to grab the purfume first, or at least i did.
and can you see the scroll hidden there?

while the puzzles seem really straight forward, two of them are timed. you spin the hour glass and then have only so long to figure out the order to press sticks to unlock it. one of them is just two presses, the other i dont know. I'm not the biggest fan of timed puzzles, so i was more worried about solving it than trying to remember. several tries later and i got it!

btw, i'm more for giving you hints, not outright solving...

those hour glass test tell you what time you want the clock over the bridge to be. and yes... you DO have to cut the strings on the Snarfblatt to get the key to the chest

Don't be like me and need help to realize maybe you should put the keys in the fire. Because how stupid is it to realize maybe the key needs to be warm to melt the thing to make the doodad? sights dramatically fool around a bit and when you need to move the hex's, make a note that it will turn only a FULL hex. I hope that helps! (aka you can center around the ones on the outside) gee, who ever hid stuff in the chairs did a really bad job at hiding the seam huh? you need the cannonball to get the achievement... and open a door

This is another one that i felt really dumb for taking so long to figure out. Just as a heads up, don't bother rubbing the lamp, its only full of oil, that maybe you should pour in the bowl on the top of the door and use the sparker. cause you need to light up the backside. to show the dials inside the doodad. The pieces on the ground are the order! which gives you a screw to tell Isis to lift her wings, but she wont keep them up

so I dont know if my hint will be the same as yours BUT



have a hint for the next puzzle too.

the dots under the wings match up with in front of the door. Make sure they are all up before starting the pattern, something WILL happen when you get it right, promise.

finding all the extras in this level is super easy,
so easy, i just need ONE picture

look next to the striker, lamp, and torch. I think this might be the easiest yet. none of them are hidden

I mean, what kind of wise man is willing to put up with someone who is willing to do anything for greed?

if you move the blankets, there is the door code, go figure, it doesn't work. Spin the door around and it tells you to swap the first and third code.

go ahead, run and do that right now, then pull the lever, and then.... um, what goes in the top part?

this is why i wait to go to the door until i think i have done everything.

did you see the pillows on the couch? throw them away, a thing you need is there! figure out where that goes and get a key (that you are gonna have to use twice! Let me post a picture and explain how!



The dots are what is holding the yellow pieces on to the board and they don't want to cross another dot, so you have to move pieces around so the yellow covers the grey, then flip the switch, steal the key and do it on the other side. which will let you finally get the thing you need to open the door.

this "wise man" didn't hide the stuff very wisely.

I feel so bad for this little shop owner! granted, deciding to hide the answer to his lock under the floor was a bit silly, he's gonna have a bad day once he comes to work. but who hides a knife under a bushel of apples, or a key in a bag of grain.

You know, i think this is the first time this game hasn't put obvious repair threads so you know to cut something, however, the top is a bit over done and its the only place you can use the knife.

so open the cage and put the thing on the box and find a crowbar. The plates have dots to tell you which one to use where..

go read the title, no seriously, its a HUGE hint. because that is where you find the pieces to unlock the door. on the back side is where you find the thing to trigger the beam.

and now you are officially done with chapter 1... have you been getting all the gems? there is two more levels you can do if so!

Both this and Embrace Darkness unlock if you have 20 gems... maybe you need 20 blue ones to open, I don't know, I've just been getting all the things.

but really, the puzzle here are easy in concept and annoying as HECK to actually do. have a look at basically the answer, or one block away from the answer



this will help you set stuff up for the harp that will show you a shape because you are going to need to spin a wheel to spin a stone to make the shape in the air. There is TWO things to move to make the shape, the obvious thing that will help you have so many "hoops/points" and then moving the other part helps you go from hoops to sharp angles.... once you get it right spin spin as fast you can, you'll never catch me.... wait, no it will make the shape you are looking for and crumble letting you go through the door.

this has a kind of game, I should have gotten screenshots for but really, use the arrows around the grid to move the color balls so they match, and then line up the box thing



I dont think that is to much of a spoiler....but I want to point at the thing under, you need to look at the colors and shapes, cause the book on the other side... will give you the key to solving it.

FOR ME

1 is two to side, 2 is 4, 3 is 6, 4 is 1 top, 5 is 3 even, 6 is 2 side, 7 is 2 up and down, 8 is 2 side to side

1 is teal, 2 is blue, 3 is brow, 4 is green, 5 is pink 6 is red, 7 purple, 8 is orange

maybe I should play this again, because while i found the keys to the drawers stupid easy, i don't remember where, I'm so tired right now, but so close to being done. You can see the scroll in the intro picture, its on the book!



but once you push all the right buttons the door opens,
and you can follow the kitty to watch the sun set

Really, I just want to put a burp about the achievements you get if you do all the levels. since 21 and 21 can be played out of order, I didn't want to put this with either of them.

Now give yourself a pat on the back because on 62% of people bother getting this, prob because only 63% want to go on the dark side.

I wanted coffee not a red thingie. The babies woke me up at 4 this morning and demanded zoomies! yes I realize they are only 6 inches big, but they are the equalivant of toddlers and sometimes you just suffer to make your life easier.

basically you need some of the coal to put in the hole to pull the lever and then you need the screw and the drive shaft which are hinging in tubs... oh and dont forget to use the hammer! maybe the 31 can help!

so this has a puzzle where you need to move stuff to the other side and line it up and match shadows, take your time, its pretty horrible
then the oscillator make the lightning... and put the tesseract in the hole, make sure all the stuff is lines up and let stuff get zapped
and touching the metal door wont hurt you... even though it should
