Sick of watching the Karlings flourish into the 11th, 12th, even 13th century, ruling every kingdom, and dominating feudal politics? Shaking your fist at how wildly ahistorical that is?

The solution is here with Karling Extinction.

What does this mod do?

This adds a negative modifier to the Karling dynasty that is applied on game start and is permanent. While the Karlings can continue, they are now near infertile, suffer from poor health, and are generally disliked.

Now, they will quietly peter out, rather than rule forever.

This only applies to the Karlings in the 867 start. Those in 1066 are safe from it.
