Best available premium ships for farming credits in 2024
By The White Warlord
This guide is written both for newer and experienced players.
It explains credits earning mechanics and contains recommendations for choosing a comfortable credits farming premium ship, best suited for newer players and experienced average players. It also explains why listed ships are more comfortable in terms of gameplay and are better in earning credits, than their counterparts.
Both coal and doubloon available Tier VIII-IX premium ships are included.
Please note that only available ships are included. If you already own removed premium ships like Musashi, Missouri, Georgia, Jean Bart, Benham, Alaska etc - this guide is not for you, since you already have one of the best ships for farming credits in the game.

Credits earning mechanics
Certain actions in battle affect the ammount of credits received for it:

1. Damaging enemy ships. Generally, the more damage you deal in battle - the more credits you earn, BUT:
If the ship you're shooting at is at least a tier higher than your's - you get more credits for dealing damage to it, but if it is at least tier lower - you earn less.
And the most important factor is that the ammount of credits you get is determined by the damage dealt in relation to the percentage of the enemy ship's HP, but not the ammount of raw damage dealt to it. So dealing 60% of damage to destroyer's HP has the same credit value, as dealing 60% of damage to the battleship's HP (if these destroyer and battleship are on the same Tier).

2. Destroying enemy ships. The more you destroy - the more credits you get. If their tier higher than your's - you get more credits, but if their tier is lower - you earn less.

3. Capturing bases/points/bonuses. The more you capture in battle - the more credits you earn. Usually a primary source for farming credits per battle for destroyers.

4. Damaging and shooting down enemy planes. This gives good ammount of credits, so premium ships with good Anti-Aircraft weaponry benefit from that well, but you don't meet carriers in every battle (and usually they avoid attacking ships with good AA), so a premium ship for farming credits still must deal high ammount of damage per battle. Same, as with enemy ships: higher tier planes give more credits for shooting them, while lower tier ones - less.

Based on this information and my personal experience I recommend the following premium ships for farming credits:

Note, that only Tier VIII-IX available premium ships are listed, as lower tier premiums have much lower credit farming modifier and thus are either used for playing for fun, or competitive gameplay. While Tier X ships are not premium ones - those are special ships which have all benefits of premium ships, but don't have credit farming modifier.
Tier IX cruiser Azuma (coal)
Tier IX Japaneese large cruiser Azuma is one of the best (if not the best) available premium ship for credit farming in the game.
All thanks to it's powerful 305mm HE shells which deal high damage, have enough penetration to damage most ships in the game and have decent fire chance. While it's guns also have good ballistics, accuracy and longest firing range among available premium Tier IX cruisers. All that allows Azuma to easily farm large ammounts of average damage per battle.
This cruiser, despite having a bad armor on paper - is designed to kite, so it's armor succesfully absorbs incoming damage when it's angled in kiting position.
Azuma has average AA defenses, but combined with Defensive AA Fire consumable it farms planes pretty well. Keep in mind that this consumable shares same slot as Hydroacustic Search, so since that ship plays at long range most of the battle - it's better to swap Hydroacustic Search for Defensive AA Fire.
This ship, despite belonging to cruiser class in game - is actully a mix of a cruiser and a fast battleship, so it's a good premium ship both for cruiser and battleship players.

The most important fact is that Azuma is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.

"-Why not Agir or Carnot?" -Those are cruisers which deal most of their damage via AP shells. Their AP shells lack improved ricochet angles found on Alaska, so they deal much less damage than Azuma most of the time, thus earn much lower ammount of credits per battle. They also struggle heavily when get uptiered against superships due to unreliable AP penetration against such ships.
Tier IX cruiser Siegfried (research points)
German Tier IX large cruiser Siegfried, unlike it's sistership Ägir, offers comfortable gameplay and an ideal ship for farming credits in the current meta.
The ship features high caliber guns for a cruiser (380mm), which have good penetration and allow to overmatch up to 25mm plating (bow and stern of most cruisers except American and German armored cruisers). Moreover, those guns are extremely accurate, as they feature high sigma vallue and cruiser dispersion formula, which with some experience allows it to get consistent hits. While the main battery range is high, the ship (unlike Ägir) also has access to spotting aircraft. Unlike Ägir and Tirpitz, it's torpedoes are mostly hidden inside hull under armor, so in most cases those won't be destroyed by HE, which is very useful in brawling situations.
In terms of armor, Siegfried has 27mm bow and stern plating (allows to deflect AP shells up to 406mm), 190mm main belt + 90mm turtleback, and also features 90mm upper belt, while upper deck of 30mm allows to deflect shells on long range (up to 431mm). With good armor scheme for a cruiser, best suited for short-medium range combat at first sight, and well protected torpedoes, the ship is best played at long ranges, setting crossfires with allied battleships, as increased battleship-like fire duration and unavailability of skills to decrease it - the ship loses it's HP quicjly under HE focus. So the ship should brawl only when necessary and preferably in the end of the match.
This ship, despite belonging to cruiser class in game - is actully a mix of a cruiser and a fast battleship, so it's a good premium ship both for cruiser and battleship players.

The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.
Tier IX destroyer Groningen (coal)
Another good credit farmer is Tier IX Dutch destroyer Groningen.
Thanks to it's fast firing guns and good "American" long lasting smoke this ship is capable of farming large ammounts of damage thanks to it's best in Tier fire starting potential.
The obvios issue is that this destroyer doesn't have torpedoes at all. But torpedoes are extremely random weapons, most torpedo focused destroyers tend to have very unstable damage performance, while gun focused destroyers deal large ammounts of damage in majority of battles - so they're much better as credit farmers.
Great AA defenses, which combined with Defensive AA Fire consumable allow it to easily farm most planes it meets in matchmaking spread.
It also has hydroacustic search consumable, which is both useful for contesting the capture points and also helps to detect torpedoes from smoke early enough to accelerate dodge them, or even hunt submarines.
Keep in mind, that unlike most ships, this destroyer has all mentioned consumables in separate slots, which give it a huge tactical advantage in battle.
The large advantage against submarines is that depth charges are launched in front of the ship, and deal good damage, allowing to destroy a submarine in a one depth charge run.
The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.

Overall, good ship for players which enjoy destroyer gunboat subclass gameplay.
Tier IX destroyer Black (coal)
American Tier IX destroyer Black can be both effective for farming and competitive gameplay.
It features 5 good rapid firing guns, American long lasting smoke and 7.5km radar, which is extremely useful in contesting capture points and hunting enemy destroyers.
AA defense is average and Defensive AA fire is in the same slot as Radar, so if you prefer a no fly zone mode - choose Groningen instead. It also doesn't have Hydroacustic Search, so be careful while farming ships with HE from smoke.
What it has are powerful, but very slow torpedoes, which give it advantage, in some combat situations, over Groningen.
It also costs much more coal, than Groningen does, which it's most obvios disadvantage.
The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.

Good farming ship, if you don't mind spending that much coal.

"-Why no Neustrashimy or Z-44?" Both those ships have poor HE DPM. Neustrashimy has instead a super heal, while Z-44 is focused on torpedoes. Torpedo focused DDs are very unstable in average damage per battle, so they're not the best choice for farming credits.
Tier IX destroyer Somme (collection)
Available for completing "Battle of Somme" Collection (Containers in the Armory for 3000 coal each) Tier IX British destroyer Somme is an identical clone of Jutland both in terns of characteristics and hull (but unlike other premium clones features ship heraldy and name plates on hull, even if you change base camouflage).
While some might despise the identical stats of Jutland, the ship has very powerful advantage from the one - Somme is premium ship, so you could place your most powerful Captain on it without any penalties, which combined with already good Jutland stats makes Somme one of the best premium ships in game.
Main battery while looking average on paper - is actually powerful if you use wisely your AP shelld with reduced detonator threshold and improved ricochet angles against broadside enemy destroyers. Ballistics are fairly good ones at short to medium ranges, but quite floaty on long range. Volume of fire - 6 guns in 3 turrets which is also good for a Tier.
Torpedoes are 2 quintuple torpedo launchers with torpedoes dealing 15k alpha damage and go to 10 km on 62 knots base speed, with ability to launch them one by one. If used correctly, you could get consistent torpedo hits with those.
Combine that with 5,7km full consealment and consumables including heal, crawling smoke generator, and short range hydroacustics, which makes this ship an amazing point contester. The only downside is no engine boost at all, which is offset by improved acceleration mechanic found on British destroyers.

The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.
Tier IX destroyer Paolo Emilio (research points)
Tier IX destroyer Paolo Emilio is one of the most fun to play premium ships, while also ideal for credit farming.
It features largest health pool among all destroyers on Tier, very good armor for destroyer and most importantly - exhaust smoke generator and imergency engine boost, which allows it to move it in full speed undetected, while the ship is the fastest ship in the game.
Main battery is powerful 8 135mm guns with good alpha damage and ballistics, but relatively long reload. Best used with SAP shells against destroyers.
Torpedoes feature great 24k alphastrike and 6km range with 67 knots base speed, which combined with exhaust smoke generator - extremely powerful combination.
Gameplay is simple and fun - run at unprotected enemy battleship on smoke, release your torpedoes, go dark - and then repeat. Just bear in mind nearby enemy ships with radar and hydroacustics, as well as enemy destroyers/subs than could spot you - and you'll be fine.

The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.
Tier IX destroyer Johnston (doubloons)
Tier IX battleship Iwami (coal)
Tier IX Japaneese Battleship Iwami is an extremely underrated ship. Mostly due to the fact that some youtubers play it with incorrect Captain build and modernizations, so they fail to make a good results on it and largely despise this ship.
This ship features 8 406mm main battery guns with average salvoe weight for Tier, which is compensated by adequate overmatch, good AP penetration, good firearchs, fast turret traverse, good range and fast reload for this caliber, and also good sigma values. It also has Great secondary batteries with one of the highest DPM on Tier and Georgia secondary batteries accuracy, while having average secondary battery range for this Tier. A good addition to this arsenal are Japaneese 12km torps on rear with relatively good launching angles and a good lowered position on stern (they almost never get destroyed by HE if you are positioning your bow to the enemy)
Armor is also Great if you angle the ship properly (thanks to good main battery firerearchs it is easy). Turtleback (though not as good as German one) saves this ship from citadel hits when it's angled, while supestructure despite being tall is still much harder to hit by comparison with Pommern's superstructure. Add to all this 57mm weather deck which covers most of the ship!
The ship is best played in full secondary build. While some will say that "this ship has Japaneese dispersion formula so it can't brawl" this ship is best played in secondary build, but in a different way than German battleships. You should primarily stay from long to medium range using advantage of "Japaneese dispersion formula" and push to secondary range only when it's necessary, using island cover to your advantage. Secondary batteries of this ship with good damage, good penetration and fire chance, do the job well in close range fights that are common in later stages of battle, while main guns with good reload and fast turret traverse compensate for slightly lower accuracy for main battery in close range.
Add to this torpedoes which never get destroyed if you position nose-in (unlike Pomern's which get destroyed by random HE, no matter how you positioning the ship), that with much higher damage than most torpedoes in tier, can devstrike any ship in your Tier spread if you land 3-4 of them in close range brawl (Pommern torps can't destroy most battleships even if you land all 4 of them in brawl).

Overall, this is a good premium ship, which with full secondary build, can adapt to any combat situation and succesfully perform even if uptiered against Superships. Well suited both for farming in random battles and participating in competetive gameplay.
Tier IX battleship Illinois (research points)
Tier IX American battleship Illinois is unique ship in the game.
Armed with 203mm cruiser rapid firing guns in quad turrets it is able to deal large ammounts of damage per battle, if played properly.
The ship has 32mm plating, standard for battleships in this Tier, but low HP pool of Iowa's stock hull. So despite the fact that it can tank all AP shells, except 460mm+ ones, it is vulnerable to focused fire and especially HE spam.
In order to play this battleship effectively, you need to be familar with USN cruisers (Des Moines branch) gameplay, espesially due to the fact that guns are same in terms of caliber, ballistics, penetration, ricochet angles and damage.
The ship has average AA defenses for Tier and doesn't have Defensive AA fire consumable, so it's vulnerable to CVs.
Despite the fact that it only has only Damage Control Party and Repair Party (Improved Montana branch one) consumables, and doesn't have Hydroacustics or Radar - it is largely compensated by high DPM cruiser guns.
Illinois is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against superships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.

"-Why not Kearsarge/Karl IV Johan?" Those ships are struggle to effectively perform, when uptiered against Superships.

Kearsarge is a ship for competitive ranked gameplay, but not for farming in random battles. It's is too large (Tier X Großer Kurfürst size), too fragile for this size (both weak armor, huge hangar deck which is easily farmable and doesn't saturate and also bad torpedo protection), has low main battery range (especially when uptiered against superships), too long main battery reload, poor ballistics with inadequate armor penetration of 406mm North Carolina guns against superships and weak planes against supership and even Tier X AA defenses.

Karl IV Johan, while having relatively decent armor and decent consealment - is a secondary focused and torpedo focused battleship, best used in ranked battles, not random ones. It has poor main battery, so it is unable to deal significant ammounts of damage every battle, in order to effectively farm credits and also struggles heavily against superships.
Tier IX battleship Sun Yat-Sen (doubloons)
Tier IX Pan-Asian Battleship Sun Yat-Sen is best described as "Georgia with Soyuz hull", although the difference is more complex.
Main battery of the ship consists of 6 accurate 457mm guns in 3 turrets with low salvoe weight, but good 30mm overmatch and fast reload. Since the recent buff the guns feature good AP shells with high penetration and 14500 alpha damage - same as Tier X Kremlin. The difference is dispersion formula: unlike soviet battleships, this ship features standard battleship dispersion formula, which allows it to effectively perform in medium to long range fights.
Combine this with Soyuz hull and armor: 60mm deck shatters most HE shells, while superstructure is small and hard to hit. 32mm bow has 220mm internal armor belt which makes citadel hits impossible from front, even for ships that can overmatch 32mm!
Same as Iwami, this ship is largely despised by youtubers that play it incorrectly: in this case those guys try to build the ship with bad secondary battery DPM, penetration and fire chance, into full secondary build ship and then complain about it's inefectiveness. The only viable build is full survavability one, especially combined with Legendary Admiral Sa Jzen-Bing.

After the mentioned resent buff - this ship is the best premium Tier IX ship you can get, and it's only large downside is the cost of 19300 doubloons.
The ship can succesfully perform even when uptiered against superships. It's well suited both for farming in random battles and for participating in competitive gameplay.
Tier VIII cruiser Atago (doubloons)
Old, but gold! Tier VIII Japaneese cruiser Atago offers both interesting and dynamic gameplay, and also great silver farming potential.
10 203mm guns in 5 turrets feature excellent Japaneese high damage and fire chance HE shells, as well as 16 10km high damage torpedoes (8 per broadside), combined with heal, and excellent consealment (9,3km maxed) allow this ship to both carry the games and deal high average damage per battle. It is best played in kiting position, while being able to contest strategic points in late game if needed, thanks to it's heal (unless you've taken citadel hits from enemy battleship).
It is both well suited for experienced and newer players, since it offers similar playstyle of cruiser Zao line, so you could train captains for it, using this ship.

The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against Tier X ships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.
Tier VIII cruiser Mainz (doubloons)
Tier VIII German cruiser Mainz is best described as "much better Hipper", as the largest Hipper's downside of extremely poor damage output, has been fixed by Mainz's more numerous high DPM smaller caliber battery guns.
The ships's main battery are 12 150mm guns in 4 tripple turrets. Those feature good reload and long firing range with good ballistics. HE shells have increased penetration, but relatively low damage, which is compensated by their good fire chance and ability to penetrate up to 38mm plating and deal direct damage to most enemy battleships. AP shells deal high damage, but lack improved ricochet angles, so they only can be effectively used only against flat broadside targets.
While armor scheme looks similar to Hipper, it has a difference, such as 25mm bow and stern plating instead of Hipper's 27mm, which makes this ship unable to bow tank 380mm guns. On the other hand it still features Hipper's turtleback armor scheme, which is able to tank most AP shells in short range, except 460mm+, if the ship is angled, so it receives full pens, or even over pens instead of citadel hits.
Similar to most high Tier German cruisers this ship features 6km torpedoes, which can help the ship in close range prior to match end.
AA defense is great and since Mainz features the same gameplay as tech tree German cruisers, staying at long range, and open water most of the time (due to bad consealment) - it's better to equip Defensive AA Fire consumable instead of hydroacustics.

Due to relatively easy gameplay style similar to German tech tree cruisers, this ship is well suited for both newer and experienced players.
Excellent high DPM long range main battery with high penetration HE shells allows this ship to deal large ammounts of average damage per battle even when it us uptiered against Tier X ships, which makes this ship a perfect credit farmer.
Tier VIII cruiser Bayard (doubloons)
Tier VIII French cruiser Bayard is the ship famous for it's highest DPM in Tier, good consealment and agility, but very fragile armor and citadel protection, which makes it more suited for experienced players.

It's main battery are 12 152mm guns in 4 tripple turrets. Those guns feature good reload time and above average range. HE shells have good fire chance and above average damage, while AP shells have relatively high penetration, but lack improved ricochet angles, so are best used only against flat broadside targets. Combined with Main Battery Reload Booster consumable those guns are able to deal large ammounts of damage in short periods of time, if used correctly.
The ship's armor is 25mm bow and stern plating, and 27mm weather deck. It's citadel is huge brick which is poorly protected, so this ship is citadelled easily if being hit.
In order to survive in this ship long enough to deal good ammount of damage per battle, players must use the ship's good consealment, high speed and agility, which make it a good ship for medium-long range open water engagements, and especially kiting. This means that Defensive AA fire consumable should be used instead of hydroacustic search, since the ship is unsuited for short range combat.

In hands of experienced enough player, Bayard is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against Tier X ships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.
Tier VIII destroyer Cossack (doubloons)
Another old, but still the best premium ship in it's class is Tier VIII British destroyer Cossack.
Thanks to it's powerful main battery (8 120mm guns on Tier VIII!), excellent consealment (5,5km outspots everyone in it's matchmaking spread), hydroacustics and smoke - it is able to succesfully contest capture points, smash enemy destroyers and farm battleships using it's powerful main battery.
It is both suited for farming silver in random battles and also for competitive gameplay.
It's only downside is weak AA defense, and only 1 torpedo launcher with 4 torpedoes (although they have good range and damage and can be launched 1 by 1).

The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against Tier X ships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.

"-Why not Kidd/Orkan/Loyang/Le Terrible?" Those are good ships (especially Kidd), but Cossack has much better DPM, much better consealment and has access to smoke and hydroacustics in separate slots.

Kidd has much worse consealment and worse DPM and doesn't have hydroacustics. That is largely compensated by heal and American long lasting smoke, making Kidd perfect DD for competitive gameplay (though Cossack is still better), but still mediocre ship for farming credits in random battles, despite having much better AA than Cossack.

Orkan, while might be useful for competitive gameplay due to it's DPM and radar, has worse DPM and much worse consealment than Cossack, lacks smoke and in the same time is very slow and has bad AA defense, which makes it the ship that is extremely vulnerable to aircraft carriers and their spotting. So this ship is difficult to play for average player, as it doesn't forget any mistakes.

Loyang has much worse consealment and much worse DPM. That is compensated by it's American long lasting smoke and very powerful hydroacustic search for Tier, which makes it relatively good ship for competitive gameplay, but not for farming credits in random battles. The fact that hydroacustics share the separate slot with engine boost also makes this ship relatively slow.

Le Terrible while being a good ship for competitive gameplay, has second worst consealment in Tier and doesn't have a smokescreen, which combined with bad AA defense makes this ship extremely vulnerable to aircraft carriers and their spotting, so it doesn't forget any mistakes and is well suited for pro players only.
Tier VIII battleship Alabama (doubloons)
Old and my personal favorite Tier VIII American battleship Alabama.
It went through significant changes to it's armor protection long time ago, and since then it has almost invulnerable underwater citadel, with thick "casemate" internal armor belt and 150mm thick armored deck above that belt (though this can only be seen in datamine websites, since in-game armor viewer doesn't show it). All that makes the citadel hits almost impossible even when the ship is flat broadside (though still it will receive high casemate damage in this case).
Combine that with powerful battery of 9 406mm North Carolina guns (which although have worse accuracy, compared to North Carolina's guns), and with 49% torpedo protection, that is best among all American battleships (except still tested USN Super Battleship Maine, which concept looks like being largely inspired by pre-buff Alabama which also had vulnerable citadel in the past), and with also very strong AA defense for it's Tier.

All that allows Alabama to both comfortably farm credits in random battles and succesfully participate in competitive ranked gameplay.

While pro players largely despise this ship for less accurate main battery compared to North Carolina, this ship is well suited for newer and average players, as it's strong armor scheme and torpedo protection forgives some mistakes in positioning, while very powerful guns for Tier VIII still allow to farm good ammounts of damage per battle, even when uptiered against Tier X ships.

"-Why not Kii/Tirpitz/Roma?"

Kii has worse firing range compared to most ships in Tier, as well bad armor and torpedo defense (both worse than on Amagi) combined with highest detectability range of all battleships in Tier - is very vulnerable when uptiered, which makes it mediocre ship for farming credits in random battles.

Tirpitz, while I enjoy farming credits on it, requires Commander with IFHE build in order to be able to penetrate 32mm plating with all secondary guns, while in order to be able to effectively use island cover and get in secondary range when uptiered against Tier X ships - you need to be a Kurfürst main with no less than 500 battles played on that ship (yes, I really played 500 battles on Großer Kurfürst alone). So Tirpitz is only suited for players well experienced in such specific gameplay due to relatively bad consealment, bad AA, and 380mm guns with lack of overmatch and accuracy, suited mostly for short-medium range fights, which make this ship difficult, for most players, to be effectively played when uptiered against Tier X ships.

Roma while being an excellent ship due to combination of it's good speed, consealment and outstanding 380mm AP penetration which is extremely useful when uptiered, lacks AA defense, 406mm overmatch, and even main battery accuracy of Alabama, which makes it less comfortable when uptiered, compared to Alabama, and an easy damage pinata for enemy aircraft carriers of any Tier.
Tier VIII aircraft carrier Kaga (doubloons)
Often reffered to as "broken OP CV", Tier VIII Japaneese aircraft carrier Kaga is reputed to be the best aircraft carrier in Tier, capable of dealing huge ammounts of damage even when uptiered, as well as adapt to almost any possible combat situation, which results in it's high server win rate.
Premium aircraft carriers have advantage over other types of premium ships, which us worth to mention: in good aircraft carrier you can succesfully play battles without any signals installed, which significantly boosts their credit farming potential, as you don't need to spend credits on signals for succesfully playing CVs.

While this carrier is equipped with Tier VI planes, it is largely compensated by huge ammounts of them in reserves, which makes running out of planes an extremely rare case even in hands of a newer player.
Kaga's torpedo bombers are unique among Japaneese aircraft carriers: they drop 4 torpedoes from Tier 6 Ruijo, instead of regular Japaneese CVs' torp bombers which drop only 2 torpedoes. While those are Tier 6 torpedoes, 4 of them being dropped are able to deal up to 20000 damage per drop, while you have 3 drops and often manage to make 2, and sometimes 3 of them on single target (though last drop will be 2 planes, since other 2 are shot down by that time). This squadron type is the primary sourse of damage for Kaga and should be used against battleships.
Dive bombers are also unique for Japaneese carrier: those are equipped with HE bombs instead of AP ones, found on tech tree Japaneese CVs. Those feature good damage and decent penetration, but should primarily be used against destroyers (for other targets including cruisers - use torpedo bombsrs)
Attack aircraft is currently almost useless squadron type on this CV, so use them on targets with high AA defenses, which you need to spot for your team.

The ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against Tier X ships, which make it an excellent ship for farming credits. It's both suited for newer and experienced players. I fact I've learned how to play on CV class, while playing this carrier.
Tier VIII aircraft carrier Chkalov (doubloons)
Another one, also known as "broken OP" premium CV is Tier VIII soviet aircraft carrier Chkalov. While it is able to deal huge ammounts of damage per battle, thus being a good credit farmer, it's best suited for experienced CV players.

It's torpedo bombers and fighters are actually Tier X planes from Nakhimov. But Chkalov, unlike Saipan, has good plane reserves, but still better to be played by experienced CV player.
It's skip bombers are sourse of most of the ship's damage. They feature high HE penetration, high damage and fire chance. Best used against large targets. Their unique feature is ability to drop all at once outside of AA range - similar to other soviet CVs, which allows to avoid plane losses.
Another squadron are dive HE bombers. Their feature is circle drop cone, which allows to target enemy ship from any angle, but in cist of accuracy. Those have nerfed damage and fire chance, and best used against DDs.
Final squadron are torpedo bombers from Tier X aircraft carrier Nakhimov. Those are best tobe saved until mid to late game, when ships are scathered alone across map and have damaged AA defenses. They feature highest alpha damage per drop in the game.

In hands of experienced players, this ship is able to succesfully perform in battle and deal large ammounts of damage even when uptiered against Tier X ships, which make it a good ship for farming credits.

This list really hits the spot for me at a good time. I need some credits, and I have some coal! Thanks...

Karl Johan has worse accuracy by comparison with Agir and also worse reload. So it's best played as secondary BB with full consealment, which allows to relatively easily close to secondary range

If you play the Karl Johan correctly (not as torp or secondary bb) it can generate a lot of credits as well. You have to play it similar to an Ägir to perfrom best.

You could also mention the Star Kitakaze, as it is a credit farmer similar to Gronningen.

Thank you. Note the Somme containers are 3000 coal, not 1000, and will need on average 76 of those to complete the set and get the ship. This still puts it on a level with Groningen and similar, and cheaper than the Black.

Missouri is no longer available to purchase, so it is not listed here.
Will add soon to the guide the following ships: Somme, Siegfried and Paolo Emilio

Good guide overall. Not sure if this will post since I don't play via steam, but I own many of these ships and it's pretty spot on. The Missouri is missing from the list but I haven't played it in a while so I'm not sure how it's fairing these days after it got some credit nerfs.
