1. Extract the music files
The music (and all other game data) is stored in a file called pak0.pak

You can find it in your steam folder in the following location:

\Steam\SteamApps\common\OlliOlli\gamedata

This file (also known as an "archive") is very similar to the common .zip files you find everywhere.
In order to open it you need an archiver program. I recommend the free and open source 7-zip. You can download it from this place http://7-zip.org/

Install 7-zip and right click on pak0.pak and select "7-Zip -> Open" from the context menu.
After 7-zip launched you can navigate inside the pak0.pak file like in the regular windows explorer.

You find the music files in the \data\sfx\music\ subfolder inside pak0.pak.
Select all music files and click on Copy (4. button in the top toolbar which looks like " - --> ")

Now you can select the folder where you want to store the soundtrack or even create a new folder.

That's it - you can now listen to it outside of the game!
[Optional] Convert the soundtrack into .MP3 files
The music files are compressed in the .ogg format which is very common and will work with 90% of todays smartphones, mp3-players and media players.

Unfortunately, there are some older or poorly programmed devices which need the files to be in regular .mp3 format.

In order to convert the files from .ogg into .mp3 you need an audio encoding program. I recommend fre:ac - again open source and free - for this task. You can find it here: http://www.freac.org/index.php

Install fre:ac, launch it and drag&drop the music files into the big white area.

Now you want to do some configuration. First, click on the "General Options" icon in the toolbar. It is the green wrench and screw icon.

Here you should select two things:
1. Encoder: LAME MP3 Encoder v.3....
2. The Output directory for the MP3 files.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then we can configure the MP3 encoder itself. If you don't care that much about audio quality and like to save space you can skip this part.
Click on the "Encoder Options" icon in the toolbar. It is the yellow cogwheel icon.

Here you can edit the MP3 encoder to your liking. I recommend 320 kbps CBR (constant bitrate) for "best" audio quality and maximum compatability. On my machine it looks like this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last but not least we can start the actual converting progress! Just hit the "Encode" icon in the toolbar. It is the green ">" icon.

That's it. After fre:ac has finished, which can take a couple of minutes, you can quit the program, delete the old .ogg copies and paste the new .mp3 files from the previously mentioned output folder.

Of course you might want to copy the files to your smartphone or listening device as well.
[Optional] edit the metadata (tags)
If you're like me and want properly edited (ID3) tags for every music file, you need to edit the soundtrack with windows or your favourite media software (like VLC), because the default .ogg files from the game have no such data stored.

For your convenience, here is the list of artists and song titles from the ingame credits:

  • Artist - Title
  • Dorian Concept - Her Tears Taste Like Pears
  • The Qemists - Society
  • Dark Sky - Leave
  • Martyn - Little Things
  • Evil Needle - Galaxy Wars
  • DFRNT - Everyone is Moving
  • Ackryte - Lazy Susan
  • Long Arm - The Roots
  • Flako - Dwarf Dance
  • Phon.o - Fukushima
  • Sweatson Klank - I can't explain

Finished editing? Now go and push me from those casual Audiosurf thrones! How can a scrub like me even attain them?
