There's many ways to see how many badges / XP you need to reach that certain level you want, one of the methods are Level up [slvlup.com] or you can put the level you want in here and it will show you how many sets you need [steamlevels.com]

There are a number of ways to increase your profile level on Steam. These include:
Purchasing games
Earning badges
Crafting badges
Upgrading badges

Each badge crafted gives you 100xp, there's 6 levels on each badge ( 5 Normals & 1 Foil )

Sale badges have no craft limits but you have a small time frame to get them, Sale cards will drop for every $10 spent while the event is active, and after every non-sale badge is created.

You can also buy the Seasonal badges on steam for Steam points if you have those laying around, this can give you a maximum of 4000 xp every season, you can read more about that here

You can get up to 4000 XP every season by buying the Seasonal Steam badge, only way to buy this badge is by using Steam points

Whenever you make a purchase on Steam, you'll be given Steam Points based on how much you spend. First, we convert this amount to USD, which then converts directly to the number of points you receive.
You will not receive any points for funding your Steam Wallet or for any Steam Community Market purchases.
You can also get Steam Points if someone from the community grants an award to one of your user reviews or other uploaded content such as screenshots, videos, guides, or Workshop items.

The maximum amount of friends is initially capped at 250 for accounts. For every Level gained, you will be able to have 5 more friend slots. This can expand to a maximum of 2000 total possible friends.

( level 350 would technically give you everything, max friend capacity and all showcases )

For every 10 Levels gained, you will receive 1 Showcase slot. These can be used to display a unique Showcase on the Profile (achievements, videos, screenshots, etc.). This can expand to a maximum of 20 at this time but more may be added in the future. Note: if you have bought an extra Showcase on the Points Shop, that adds an extra Showcase slot on top of the maximum.

Once you have received all of your card drops, you become eligible for a booster pack, which is a set of 3 trading cards that may include both basic and foil cards. Booster packs are granted randomly to eligible users as more badges are crafted by members of the community. Make sure you log in to Steam each week to maintain eligibility.

Once eligible, your Steam Level increases your rate of receiving a booster pack drop:
Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)
Etc.

From your Badges page, the “How do I earn card drops?” window shows you how many card drops you have earned, how to get more, and if you are currently eligible for a booster pack drop.

Limited users do not qualify for Steam levels. If you are a limited user, your XP will not increase and your level with remain at 0.
