[Fundamentals] Chillquarium For The Active Player (Without Cheating)
Von Tide
Chillquarium is a fairly easy game and there aren't any wrong ways to play it. You can unlock everything in the game by taking your time and playing slow. But for players who like to play actively, this guide is for you. The point of the guide is to simply assist players that might want to play a more active role in maximizing their income. We will begin with a basic concept called "The Ratio" then follow up with a few more advanced details.

The Ratio
Every fish in Chillquarium has a sell price and a earning per day value. When we refer to the ratio, does the fish earn more per day than what we can sell it for?

We can calculate it by (Earning Per day) divided by (Selling Price). Here are a couple examples

  • Angel Fish : Earning $9.64 per day; Sells for $9.64; Ratio of 1
  • Peacock Gudgeon: Earning $2.73 per day; Sells for $8.21; Ratio of approximately .33
How To Use The Ratio
[The Ratio - Beginners Owners]

Sell any fish with a ratio of less than 1. When you start out, you should not care about how much money they earn at all. The ratio determines the selling point in the beginning.

As you have less tank space and only mature fish, you should start increasing your ratios. For instance maybe sell anything below a ratio of 1.5 or 2.0. Though I caution setting a ratio too high as this might cull too many of your fish and require a *VERY* active play style.
More Considerations For Intermediate and Advanced Owners
[Advice For Beginners Continued - Pack Choice]

Once you have an okay income stream and have a few hundred dollars in the game, I recommend trying to aim for the 1,000 pack. Your goal going forward is to keep trying to earn a decent amount of money until you can unlock bigger and better packs. In the $1,000 packs you will find that the common fish tend to sell for like $400 and earn only $40 per day. When you get 4 fish per pack, you're guaranteed to earn more than what you paid for the pack (as long as you wait until the fish are adults) when you sell your fish.

[For Intermediate Owners]

Consider how actively you wish to play at this point. The ratio is not as important if you do not play actively. If you don't play very often you should begin to prioritize earnings per day. For inactive players, earnings per day is more important than selling price.

[For Advanced Owners]

By the time you have played this game for awhile you have a general sense of an idea of how you want to play the game. Some people are completionists and will aim to unlock everything, other players may wish to collect one of every fish, and some players might just end up wanting to edit save files. Whatever you end up doing, it's all okay. What's most important is you just have fun!
