"omori pets a cat.
if you know the game, you KNOW there is a cat in this game. however sadly it is not actually able to be pet so far (i am in a castle at this moment so please do NOT spoiler anything about the game, as i havnt with this drawing because it is entirely SPOILER-FREE).
now i will reflect on the artistic process of making this digital painting. i first started out drawing omori, but i started out witha different face than what i ended up having there, and also i added tha cat secondly. he is seen petting the cat and he seems to be happy actually. the cat says meow and the shadow thing is looking at this all happening and seems to also be happy.
i wanted to omori to actually express some feelings unlike in the game where he doesnt really emote that much (so far, i havent finished it so don't spoiler anything) so i kind of improved it / added on the original concept in that way.
i added all the amazing friends that you have on there as well as they are all there standing and being themselves. i put thought into having them expres who they are as a characters with just the one pose & expression, as you can see basil is standing there looking, with his green hair en flower he seems delicate, and kel is in an energetic pose. audrey is standing there with that stuffed toy. mari is standing behind audrey which says something about them and their relationship, she is also drawn in a supportive pose you could say. and there is hero on the left who is looking charming actually, if you played the game that would make all the sense in the world, he looks happily at this happening of omori and the cat and all. also take a look at the composition of this peace, it is composed quite grounded on purpose and there is overlap with the different characters which makes it feel more realistic and like you are really there, i did all of that purposefully to portray what i think about this game.

this is overall a happy moment and i am so far really enjoying the game and the story and kinda everything about the game, my 1 complaint is that there may be a little too much flavour text which doesnt really add anything to the narrative or setting or anything and also that when you lose a battle you restart at the beginning of the battle instead of your last save point maybe? it also reminds me of undertale, i might make crossover fanart of that in the near future, so look out for that for when that happens!
i made this on a pc with microsoft paint which is a great art program for casual drawing, it is free and on any microsoft platform. i even found out they added the abillity to have multiple layers in your drawing which is actually groundbreakiing and awesome but i decided to not make use of it in order to keep that authentic feling of having painted everything onto the same layer which you cant have when using multiple layers.
