THE REAL FALL OF REACH

This is a vanilla+ mod with a heavy focus on immersion just as much as it has been rebalanced. Battle ambience, environmental storytelling, cut dialog restored, USEFUL ALLIES, and so much more - all the while staying as faithful as possible to the vanilla reach experience and Bungie's vision.


This is a mod best experienced slowly. A lot of work was done to add even small details you may overlook.

Combat in general has been changed so that you aren't fully reliant on one weapon on higher difficulties.
For example the AR is effective at fodder crowd control but struggles against elites and brutes.
Plasma weapons will more consistently falter after sustained fire requiring a combo with another weapon to deliver kills.
Your allies are far more useful. They are relatively weak health wise, but they deal full damage, have smarter AI, are more plentiful and even more.


WEAPON AND AI BALANCING SUMMARY

-All weapons have had changes to their screen effects for weightier combat.
-Bullets are weaker to shields, plasma weaker to health, etc.
-AR deals a little more damage and has much less bloom.
-DMR has much less bloom
-Magnum has lower min and max bloom
-Shotgun pellets stay in reticle, and travel farther. Red reticle increased
-Sniper's unchanged, so are rockets
-Target Laser deals much more damage
-Splaser deals much more damage.
-PP is now viable outside of overcharge
-Plasma Rifle focuses on consistency and reliability, while Repeater has more potential firepower but is less reliable (More punishing heat mechanics)
-Spiker deals bullet damage and deals more damage in general, and has increased melee damage
-Needler unchanged
-Needle rifle has slightly less max bloom and less min bloom
-Concussion Rifle has more damage for the player and is more spammable
-Plasma launcher unchanged
-Fuel Rod unchanged
-Sword/hammer deal more damage
-Turrets are more useful in general.
-Increased max grenades to 4 each.

-All enemies have increased or tweaked range, and firing patterns
-All fodder enemies (Grunts, jackals, skirmishers) have less health, meaning pretty much anythings viable. Grunt heavies are rarer on foot but can be seen piloting turrets, shades, and vehicles. Grunt backpacks and color modified.
-Elite majors are red, Elite zealots are gold, elite generals are maroon.
-Separated Spec-ops elites from stealth elites to be like CE. Stealth elites replace vanilla spec-ops encounters and Spec-ops elites are escorting the Zealot team. Stealth elites look like halo CEA and spec-ops elites look like vanilla but without camo, and will throw grenades
-Brutes are more aggressive, will charge you. Hammer chieftains are more aggressive and other chieftains are more cautious. Brute minors wont throw grenades
-Hunters have increased HP on lower difficulties and slightly more on legendary. They behavior is overhauled to allow more aggressive actions.
-Dropship turrets are much less accurate, but have longer bursts, making them very dangerous up close.
-Many more trooper and marine variants (ONI Security, city militia, desert/marine/ODST sergeants, etc).
-More scripted things, such as more endless ai battles or longswords overhead.
-Friendly and fallen spartans, starting on tip of the spear.
-Friendly damage debuffs removed, and firing patterns tweaked, as well as HP and behaviors.
-More allies in certain areas.
-Even more, but I don't want to just explain the whole mod away.

This mod also features a overhauled firefight experience with ally spawns, but you can experience that yourself.

This is my first mod I ever made, originally beginning development in October 2023. It released in bad shape, but now I am very proud of it.

Its been known. I never touched it so I dont know what exactly is broken. Too focused on newer projects to care about HRP.

Great mod, makes the gameplay way better but keeps the feel of reach.
I have some suggestions:
1) I think the covenant beam-elevators at the end of tip of the spear are broken. I cannot use them, I just fall right through
2) Anyway you could add drones to certain waves in firefight? That would be awesome.

99% of battle ambience would be removed if you did. Thats all the sfx file adds - battle ambience.

If you want compatibility seek to combine them. You'd need familiarity with the mod tools + osoyoos.

but i noticed that there is now a sfx file in the mod as of the most recent update, would anything break if i were to override it or is it good?
