Midnight Canvas

Description
Switch off the lights and relax under the veil of midnight with this dramatic map skin. A seamless blend of rich darker tones and shimmering city lights make for a striking backdrop as well as being a great alternative for those looking to reduce eye strain that can occasionally arise from the bright default map. Combine with a glass of red wine and a some silky smooth jazz music for a unique Nimby Rails experience beneath the stars!

There is already day, there is already night, but the Sunrise/Sunset is missing and it would be complete, Good work

Thanks man, that's really great to hear! Both packs offers a soothing alternative experience compared to the bright default map style that can become quite tiring after sustained use :)

I just absolutely love this mod and Global Canvas. Turned it on once and never turned it off again. It's just so nice on the eyes, especially during late evenings :D

Hey man! The ambient hues from the population layer really compliment the darker vibes for sure - was a complete surprise to me as I hadn't planned it! This mod is all about that glistening midnight sparkle and with the way texture tiling works in the game, the lights can look more/less abundant depending on your zoom level :)

I'm absolutely loving your idea, I think it would be fantastic to have a completely separate version of this mod that switches the lights off, even toning the roads down to a certain extent too. Would be amazing for people that want to create vast underground networks and subways where those overground lights aren't required. I'll look at potentially getting something sorted :)

I love most of this map style, it looks really good, but I'm not a massive fan of the scaling grid of lights for built-up areas. I was thinking, would it be possible to use the population layer to simulate the city lights instead, and would it look good?

That's such awesome news! Well done man - you get so attached to the networks you create in this game, they really are a labour of love. Can't wait to check out some screenshots of it running on the latest version :D

Actually I was able to convert my file to 1.10 and use this. Absolute game changer! Thanks a ton!

Yeah thats what I thought. I have a game I worked really hard on in the early days but its not compatible with 1.10 so probably not a lot of option for me

Hey man! Since the release of version 1.10 it's just a case of subscribing, going to options and selecting maps - I doubt it's possible to activate in legacy versions of the game due to differences in the data used to render the map :)

How do I enable this within the game? I'm running legacy 1.3 if that makes a difference
