Xanne

Xanne (pronounced Zan, like xanax) shoulder checks her way into Aether! Taking inspiration from roller derby, breakdancing, capoeira, and punk rock culture, this porcupine is a force to be reckoned with.

This is my submission for the Rivals of Aether 2 character contest.

All sources for anything not made by me can be found in the a_README.gml file in her folder. Everything used here is free use or paid for.

• ROCKET POWERED ROLLER SKATES - Xanne comes equipped with roller skates powered by graffiti. These grant her slippery movement, multiple jumps and unique midair movement options!
  
• PAINT THE TOWN PINK - Xanne's neutral special allows her to throw a can of spray paint which makes a wall of graffiti. You can wallgrind, or 'wavegrind', on graffiti using airdodge or forward special!
  
• TRICK SYSTEM - Hitting attacks briefly after wavegrinding causes Xanne to perform a trick! Once you reach the AETHEREAL trick level, unleash a boosted special attack and watch the audience go wild!

In the future timeline, where Clairen is fighting against Loxodont to stop the eternal emperor, Xanne is... not involved in the slightest? Rather, she's accepted the innate anarchy of the world by participating as a fighter in THE THUNDERDOME, a secluded fighting ring for Aether's lowest. Xanne is one of their premiere fighters, using custom fitted roller skates built with stolen parts to ride around the rink at lightning speed. She thrives off of her audience, getting more powerful and more motivated with the fancier tricks she performs. Just don't let her fans know that she'll throw a match for the right price.

Given her shady history, Xanne makes sure to lay low from the rising fire capitol. However, she's not above stirring up problems by vandalizing walls and shops, leading the unknowing citizens of the fire capitol wondering who this graffiti grifter might be.

Her species as a porcupine accents her roller derby theming, with her knee and elbow spikes serving as knee and elbow pads. She often gets confused for a skunk but has started to lean into the idea by coloring her spikes and hair white.

• You can only gain trick when hitting someone after wavegrinding, and only lose it if you get hit in that same state in which you can gain trick. Basically if your outline is pink, your trick meter is up for grabs.
  
• You can also gain a trick level from a successful parry!
  
• You also lose a trick level from being parried :/
  
• Uspecial, utilt, and nspecial can have their trajectories manipulated.
  
• Dstrong will move left or right during the spinning part if you hold that direction.
  
• Boosted dspecial ignores the stage, unlike normal dspecial.
  
• Hold down parry or special while wavegrinding to continue the wavegrind.
  
• Taunt has a special added sound if you're Aethereal trick level and just wavegrinded.
  
• Over 40 unique graffiti walls! Some are rarer than others so look out.
  
• Her jumps go higher if you are already moving upwards. However, every jump you use makes the next one go not as high
  
• The above does not apply to airdodging!
  
• She has no ammo versions of fspecial, dspecial, and down air. Theyre kinda bad (except maybe dair) but both dair and dspecial still spike!
