"When I was active in New Age spirituality, thinking I was an open-minded, progressed Christian, and began to embrace Occult practices that come with New Age, I was taught that there's no such thing as sin, that we are gods, that we can all reach enlightement through meditation, yoga, astrology, reiki, connecting to our higher self, balancing our chakra's, asking and receiving help from spirits and spirit guides, etc. Once we'd become spiritually awakened, we'd be able to gain acces to more hidden knowledge. We could all tap into this universal "christ consciousnesss" to reach our most high potential and eventually become Christ (The false christ that is). Oh boy, does that make you feel excited and special, right? Ego stroking and sadly a very effective deception of satan. But it's not a new trick. It's the same old trick wrapped in a different package.

In Genesis 3 we read how Adam and Eve were forbidden by God to eat from one specific tree in the garden of Eden. The tree of knowledge of good and evil. But satan convinced Eve to go against God's command and to eat from the tree anyway, with the same craftiness as he does nowadays. The serpent asked Eve: “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from ANY tree in the garden’? Eve said to the serpent: “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” The serpent replied: “You will not certainly die for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

It is the same old lie. When I was in the New Age, I was unaware of this and also about another New Age/Occult deception of channeling and communicating with the other side, something God strictly forbids throughout the entire Bible. God's Word makes it clear that when we channel "spirits from the other side", we're not talking to our aunt Sally or uncle Joe, but to demons. A medium is someone who supposedly contacts or communicates with the dead on behalf of the living. In reality mediums are contacting demons who convince the mediums that they're “familiar” and can be trusted and believed. "Familiar spirits" and "spirit guides" are under the control of satan. They influence people to spread lies and deceit in order to thwart the kingdom of God. In the Bible we read over and over again that God strictly forbids these kind of practices because they belong to the devil and his fallen angels.

Because I didn't read the Bible at the time, I believed I was not going against God by involving myself with these kind of practices. I was taught that through these practices and spiritual developing of ourselves, we are actually helping God (they call it Source) and working together WITH God, raising the vibration of this planet, with help of "spirits from the other side". Back then there were Christians who tried to warn me about the path I was on, but I thought those Biblical Christians weren't enlightened enough to understand spirituality and that they misunderstood the "true" meaning behind Jesus His teachings. I thought they were brainwashed, spiritually dead and stuck in an old system that keeps them in bondage. Not realizing I was the one who was dead and in bondage.

Sadly, the teachings of the New Age and its false christ are rapidly spreading in todays culture and even the church. Many self-professing Christians have abandoned Biblical truth and sound doctrine to follow teachers to suit their own passions and desires (2 Timothy 4:3-4). They no longer listen to God's revealed Word but instead trust their own spiritual experiences and those of others. They no longer look at God as THE authority, but instead drag God down to human levels, use Him as some wish granter (genie) and think of themselves as divine beings. There is no fear of God, nor is there respect, but they see God as an equal, as their "buddy". They begin to embrace the practices of cultures around them and worship a false god, a god made in their own image, not realizing that the Bible warns for this over and over again and that there is really nothing new under the sun for everything done today also happened in Biblical times.

That's why it's so important to read your Bible, and not blindly follow worldly "trends" because everyone seems to be doing it. The blind cannot lead the blind. Both will fall into the pit. We're to test everything to Scripture to know if it's from God and what God says about it. Make no mistake: the practices done in the New Age and Occult do NOT belong to the life of a Christian. No matter how "innocent" it may seem at first. It always starts with just one yoga class, one meditation session. Often the spiritual aspects and their origins will not manifest right away but it will always lead to that. You cannot seperate the practices from the spiritual realm. And there is a war going on in that realm as we can read in Ephesians 6:12: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. And no, New Age meditation (emptying your mind which opens you to the spiritual realm) and Bibical meditation (filling your mind with God's Word) are NOT the same thing!

If we are unaware of what God instructs us humas (with our sinful nature) to do, we'll easily fall for the deception of satan and his servents who are bound to this earthly plane. satan is the ruler of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) and the entire world is under his influence. Just because something claims to be "love and light", "positive vibes", "Namasté" ( meaning: the god in me bows to the god in you), doesn't mean it comes from God. satan masquerades as an angel of light and will deceive many. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

The source of all teachings of the New Age and Occult are demonic. It are all doctrines of demons and it started with the serpent's first lie in the Garden of Eden. His lies and false promises are the same today. Many will be deceived and chase after this false light.

Jan 2025 it'll be three years since God saved me out of these deceptions. All glory to God for saving a wretch like me out of the kingdom of darkness, into His everlasting kingdom. The true light and its true freedom, and giving me the opportunity to now warn against these deceptions.

Sin is what seperates us from a holy God (Romans 5:12). It has us on the path of eternal destruction (Revelation 20:15). There are not many different roads to God (John 3:36). There is only one God and one mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus Christ said that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no one will come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6 ). Jesus Christ said that the way is narrow and only few will find it (Matthew 7:13-14). Only through Jesus Christ will we be reconciled to God (Romans 5:10). Truth and freedom are found in Christ alone (John 8:32). For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23). Put your faith in Jesus Christ alone (Galatians 3:26). The entire world lies in the power of the evil one (1 John 5:19). He deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9). The one who endures to the end will be saved (Matthew 24:13-14).
