What is this?
It is a notmod You might know the Mod Multiple Chosen & Entourage by Alex Nares. It did not work for me so i tried making something myself. One thing i realized was one file named wrongly.

Chosen will bring a small Honor Guard with them. Starting at 1 Unit at the M1 Level and adding an additional one each Level. M2 onwards will guarantee to bring a Priest and a Shieldbearer.

I also added configs that 1 unit could be another Chosen. But I commented that part so it is not active. If you want to have this small chance (Fl10 onwards) just remove the ; in front of the respective lines in XCOMEncounterLists.ini

Compatibility
That's a tricky thing ... everything that changes the Encounters of the Chosen is incompatible (no mod found to do that in my lightly modded test environment of 1000 mods).

FNAQ
  • Spawnweights are awful -> Probably, just change them to your liking
  • Are you crazy? -> Of course
  • Does this make the game harder -> maybe .. it adds more enemies. But that also means more XP
  • Why have you fixed so many enemies instead of just pulling randomly? -> Because of Firaxis. It would just take the first follower it chooses and copy that till the pod is full. Totally ignoring the maxingroup setting

so your mod makes the entourage pods appear even with DABFL then? I think with the original one it would break with it, that was my actual concern, but I wrote my previous question very stupidly :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

The thing is ... DABFL will ignore any Chosen Pod and do nothing. So DABFL will not mess with the Pods

That's also the reason why i needed to pretty much hardcode the Groups

A suggestion that could be fun, is a option to have the chosen entourage spawn when you engage the chosen, so it harder to separate them.

or did you change the groupsize of the encounter? Mind you thanks to Firaxis the first Follower it selects (even if it is a chosen) will copied as many times as is needed to fill the pod without respecting the maxcharacters in group
