Led by Fate
Complete Chapters 1, 2 and 3.
Just follow the story and complete all levels in chapters 1, 2, and 3.

Complete Chapters 7, 8 and 9.

Why Does the Candle Burn

The Candle That Guides the Way
Little Candle discovered although his flame is weak, it can still guide the way in darkness.
This will be given after completing Chapter 11: The sound of hope is heard at last and watching the cutscene.

The Candle That Brings Warmth
Little Candle discovered his flame can bring warmth.
This will be given after completing Chapter 11: On river lights without despair and watching the cutscene.

The Candle That Ignites Others
Little Candle discovered his flame can ignite others.
This will be given after completing Chapter 12: Flowers of fire lead him up to the heights and watching the cutscene.

Spark to a Flame
Light a candle.
While nearly impossible to miss, it is technically possible. This achievement is granted when you first light another candle. Stand next to a candle in a stand and light yourself to light your fellow candle.

The Limit
Run out of wax.
The longer you are lit, the more your candle runs low. This achievement is granted the first time you run out of candle completely by burning too long. The time limit for your candle is 10 seconds.

Spread the Light
Light all candles in a level.
This can be completed in any level by lighting all the candles. See the sections for finding all candles in each level for information on candle locations.

Perseverance
Complete a level after failing 5 times.
This achievement is granted if you die 5 times before finishing the level. It does not matter how you died [time ran out, jumped off a ledge, etc] as long as you have died 5 times total.
You start with 10 lives, so you have to have to have 5 or less lives left.

Sailor
Light all candles in Chapters 1, 2 and 3.
All candles must be lit in chapters 1, 2, and 3. See the sections for finding all candles in each level for information on candle locations.

Ranger
Light all candles in Chapters 4, 5 and 6.
All candles must be lit in chapters 4, 5, and 6. See the sections for finding all candles in each level for information on candle locations.

Lighthouse Keeper
Light all candles in Chapters 7, 8 and 9.
All candles must be lit in chapters 7, 8, and 9. See the sections for finding all candles in each level for information on candle locations.

Explorer
Light all candles in Chapters 10, 11 and 12.
All candles must be lit in chapters 10, 11, and 12. See the sections for finding all candles in each level for information on candle locations.

A Travelled Sailor
Complete all time challenges in chapters 1, 2, 3.
A Talented Ranger
Complete all time challenges in chapters 4, 5, 6.
A Knowledgeable Lighthouse Keeper
Complete all time challenges in chapters 7, 8, 9.
An Experienced Explorer
Complete all time challenges in chapters 10, 11, 12.
The time challenges are unlocked after you have completed the game.
You do not need all the candles for the time trials. Sometimes, it is good to light one along the path so you can see without burning your own candle. This is up to personal preference.
The checkpoint candle does save your place and time, so that is a tool to utilize.
There will be a little ball of light with you on the map. You merely have to reach the end of the level before the little ball does.
When looking at the level on the menu, your time is displayed on the left and the target time on the right.

This chapter has a total of 9 candles to find.
The first candle is the trickiest one of this level. The trick? Go backward. The moment you spawn, head backward and follow the path. The first candle sits in front of a mirror.
The second candle you will see while walking the main path, out in the open.
The third candle is found by climbing atop the chain to the right of the second candle and then onto the box.

Before jumping down, make your way to the left. The fourth candle is found on the box across a small jump.

The fifth candle is found out in the open, next to the checkpoint candle. You will have been able to light a total of 5 candles by the time you make it to the checkpoint candle.
The sixth candle is past a small puzzle. You fill find a floating platform. Jump into the water, it is too shallow to hurt you. Push the platform all the way up. You will use the platform to get on the box at the end of the water path. The candle is just around the corner.

The seventh candle is along the path, not far from where the platform you pushed in the water was originally.

The eighth candle is just off the path, under the ramp to get to the end of the level.

The ninth candle is just before the portal to exit the level.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is slightly right of the path, at the end of a small plank.

The second candle is along the path, atop a barrel.

The third candle is found by going down when you hit the large box, just past the second candle. It is not far off the path.

The fourth candle is along the path, atop a barrel.

The fifth candle is atop the left box, while the path goes to the right. You will have to angle the moving board to jump up.

After the fifth candle, you will find the checkpoint.

The sixth candle is along the path, on a small box.

The seventh candle is along the path, just before the portal.

The eighth candle is along the path, after the ship tilts and causes the box to block your path to the exit.


This chapter has a total of 10 candles to find.
The first candle is out in the open, along the path.

The second candle is also along the path.

For the third candle, you take the left path with the swinging boxes.

The fourth candle continues along the left path to the dead end.

The fifth candle is along the main path.

After the fifth candle, you find the checkpoint candle. Again, these don't count but they help keep track.

The sixth candle is found after you jump down from the checkpoint. A swinging box leads to a hidden path to the left, where the sixth candle is found.

The seventh candle is found along the main path.

The eighth candle is found along the main path.

After lighting the eighth candle, jump on top of the moving barrel that you just ran past. Ride the barrel to the left and it will take you to the ninth candle.

When you reach the moving barrel just before the exit, you will climb the boxes on the right to jump onto the barrel. Ride the barrel to the left and the tenth candle.


This chapter has a total of 9 candles to find.
The first candle is to the right, just off the path.

The second candle is also slightly to the right of the main path.

For the third candle, you will have to push the floating platform over to the box in order to be able to reach it. Be careful not to fall.

When you first reach a series of platforms to jump on, there will be a box that has the fourth candle on it.

For the fifth candle, you will have to push one of the platforms half way between the stationary box and barrel to help you make the gap. Be careful not to push it too far or you will not be able to reach it.

You will find the checkpoint candle just before another jumping puzzle with moving, floating boxes.

The sixth candle will be found in a gap in the wall on the left hand side of the floating boxes path. A plank of wood sticking out indicates the opening is coming up.

The seventh candle will also be found on the left, this time on a box. Jump onto the barrel to reach it.

The eighth and ninth candle are found at the end of the level, on either side of the puzzle door.

This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first candle is along the path.

You will come across a bridge of parchment that straightens out when the light is shinning. On the first bridge, wait for the light to go away and the bridge will lower, bringing you to the second candle.

On the second bridge of parchment, wait for the light to shine and the bridge will raise, bringing you to the third candle.

The checkpoint candle is after the third candle.

The fourth candle is along the path.

The fifth candle is found not far from the fourth, on the opposite end of the partially completed circle of books.

The sixth candle is on the right of the big platform just after the fifth candle. It is not far from the path.

The seventh candle is found by taking the upward path of bottles, instead of going to the right. It is atop a stack of books.


This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is found by climbing the first stack of books just to the right of the path, before taking the turn.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

When you find a path of curving books, there will be a large shelf-like structure. Jump on top of that and follow it for the fifth candle.

The sixth candle is found along the path, just before the exit.


This chapter has a total of 9 candles to find.
The first candle is along the path.

On the circle of parchment bridges, take the vertical one down [at the 6o'clock] for the second candle.

The third candle is along the path.

The forth candle is beside a pillar, along the path.

The checkpoint candle is after the fourth candle.

When you come across 3 bottles that can be rolled, do not take the path to the right/down. Push the small bottle so that it can be used to get on top of the half tall box for the fifth candle. Be careful not to push any bottle off the edge.

After jumping down from the fifth bottle, roll the tall bottle facing left/up against the stack of books. Use it to get on top of the other stack of books for the sixth candle.

The seventh candle is along the path.

The eighth candle is along the path.

Immediately after the eighth candle, take the path to the right for the ninth candle.

This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is found by taking the chain bridge downward.

The second candle if found by taking the chain bridge upward then taking the path to the left.

The third candle is found just to the right of the main path.

The fourth candle is found by taking the path down after the swinging anvils jump, before the fire puzzle.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found just upward of the path.

The sixth candle is found along the main path.


This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is found behind the left side of the first helm.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third and forth candles are found on the left and right sides of the second helm, next to the puzzle answer and just upward of the checkpoint candle.

The fifth candle is found at the end of the right upward path, past the helm.

The sixth candle is found at the very end of the left path, found by heading left from the path to the second helm. As you approach it, it will be hidden behind the pole. Keep going left until you are against the candle/wall to see it.


This chapter has a total of 5 candles to find.
Something to note: there will be no checkpoint candle between these 5 candles.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found by taking the right path at the fork, instead of the main path downward.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found by following the glowing path and going downward at the fork, instead of upward. It is not far off the main path.

The third candle is found along the glowing path.

The fourth candle is found by going right after the third candle, away from the path. It is around a corner.

The fifth candle is found along the main path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fifth candle.

The sixth candle is found along the main path.

At the fork in the road, take the left path. The seventh candle is found by jumping onto the ledge under the vine bride.

The eighth candle is found by continuing along the left path.


This chapter has a total of 11 candles to find.
The first and second candles are found on the main path, standing vigil on either side of the path.

The third candle is found on the main path.

The fourth candle is found by taking the left fork at the third candle.

The fifth candle is found by taking the right fork at the third candle.

The sixth candle is found by going behind the large spiky flower in your path, around its right side, instead of left to progress.

The checkpoint candle is found after the sixth candle.

The seventh candle is found along the main path.

The eight candle is found along the main path.

The ninth candle is found along the main path.

The tenth and eleventh candles are found on the main path, standing vigil before the path toward the exit.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found after jumping down from the fourth candle. Take the downward path, instead of going to the right.

The sixth candle is found along the path, by taking the right path from the fork.

The checkpoint candle is after the sixth candle.

The seventh candle is found along the path.

The eighth candle is found along the path, after the first leaf bridge.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found just after the second by jumping atop of the ledge and following the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The sixth candle is found along the path.

The seventh candle is found on a path left of the sixth candle. Be careful of the falling spike balls because they will get in the way.

The eighth candle is found along the path. Like the seventh candle, the spike balls will try to get in the way.

This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found by following the floating jump pads to the right from the checkpoint candle. It is clearly visible from the checkpoint.

The fifth candle is found by following the rocks to the left of the checkpoint candle.

The sixth candle is found along the path.

The seventh candle is found by jumping onto the first rock, on the way toward the exit after the sixth candle, and going to the right.

The eighth candle is found by following the split path of jumping pads to the left/upward.


This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first candle is found just left of the path, almost immediately starting the level.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found by following the flowing river of jellyfish. Jump onto the jellyfish and ride one of the right most ones down. Before the jellyfish start to dip, there will be a path on the right.

The fifth candle is found by going against the flowing river of jellyfish. Jump from jellyfish to jellyfish, going to their "river's" origin. The candle will be on the right, not far from the "river" source.

The sixth candle is found by jumping onto the rock to the right of the two jellyfish flowing in a continuous circle.

The seven candle is found by taking the appearing path of jellyfish to the upper/right of the two jellyfish flowing in a circle. You will have to sit on the left jellyfish [shown under the water in the picture] to wait for the path to appear.

This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first and second candles are found in the flower in the center of the vine ring. Light up and the flower will come to you.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found almost immediately after the fourth candle. Guide the floating flower south and you will found the rock that it sits on.

The checkpoint candle is after the fifth candle.

The sixth candle is found on the rock wall by taking the left path. Both it and the seventh candle are visible when lit up.

The seventh candle is found on a rock to the right of the rock wall path. It is reached by jumping from the right appearing jellyfish onto the rock.


This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first candle is found just to the left of the path, behind the first spike ball.

The second candle is found against the left wall, along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found using the second of three floating flowers. It will be somewhat visible to the right of the second flower. Guide the flower so that you go up then right, past the floating spike ball, to reach the fifth candle.

The checkpoint candle is after the fifth candle.

The sixth candle is found early on the floating jellyfish river. It is across the river near its beginning.

The seventh candle is found at the end of the floating river. The end of the river has a rock path to the right, which leads to the seventh candle, and a rock path to the left, leading to the exit.


This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found by following the right path from the first candle. The flower is used to get across, instead of following the path upward.

The third candle is found just slightly down from the main path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The sixth candle is found by taking the right vine path from the fifth candle.

The seventh candle is found after the rolling spike jumble down a hill. Be careful how many spikes you send at once as they can get stuck on each other and block the seventh candle.

This chapter has a total of 9 candles to find.
The first candle is along the path.

The second candle is found by taking the flower path split to the left.

The third candle is found along the circular vine path around the checkpoint, on the leftmost side.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle, in the center of the circular vine path.

The fourth candle is found north of the checkpoint candle, on the northeast part of the circular vine path.

The fifth candle is found southeast from the checkpoint candle, using the leaf and the flower path.

The sixth candle is found by following the flowers left of a leaf pad.

The seventh candle is found just north of a leaf pad, visible from the path.

The eight candle is found along the path.

The ninth candle is found just before the exit. Take the leaf path down, instead of leaving the level.


This chapter has a total of 5 candles to find.
The first candle is found just up from the path, before taking the right flower path.

The second candle is found north of the past, before heading south to guide the spike ball. Be careful of the spiky flowers.

The checkpoint candle is found after the second candle.

The third candle is found along the path, while guiding the spiky ball.

The fourth candle is found southeast of the third candle, using the leaf pad.

The fifth candle is found to the right of the path, just before heading to the exit.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found by taking the left flower to the base of the vine bridge. Jump on the vine and follow it up to the first candle.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found along the flower path northeast of the checkpoint candle.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The sixth candle is found along the path.

The seventh candle is found along the path.

The eighth candle is found by taking a right at the split in the flower path, instead of following the left to the exit.

This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is found in the middle of three moving blocks, on the right.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found on the right thin path at the end of a set of moving blocks.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The sixth candle is found by taking the north path, instead of going south, using the moving blocks.


This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found by jumping behind the block that slams in the main path, just before the third candle, and running to the left.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found by heading backward after the fourth candle and jumping atop the moving blocks. This takes a bit of timing as the pillar will drop before they are fully closed.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fifth candle.

The sixth candle is found just before the seventh candle by taking the path upward, instead of continuing on the downward path.

The seventh candle is found along the path.


This chapter has a total of 10 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found by going along the straight/left level path, instead of following the path up, after the checkpoint.

The sixth candle is found along the path.

The seventh candle is found along the path.

The eighth candle is found by riding the moving block to the left, just before the ninth candle.

The ninth candle is found along the path.

The tenth candle is found by lighting the straight path above the way out, instead of dropping down.


This chapter has a total of 5 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found just before the checkpoint candle. Taking the right path, you have to rush straight back to the candle. Careful, it is a tight squeeze.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found by taking the solid path downward, before taking the invisible/glowing path back and out.

This chapter has a total of 9 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path. DO NOT light your candle before you reach it. You will fall.

The second candle is found by going left before the third candle, after falling from the first.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path. DO NOT drop down after this candle. We will go back for the one below after the fifth candle.

The fifth candle is found by continuing along the upper shadow path after the fourth candle.

The sixth candle is found by backtracking left after falling from the fifth candle.

The checkpoint candle is found after the sixth candle. You can light it after the fifth if you really want, since it is right there after you fall.

The seventh candle is found just below the path, on the solid rock.

The eighth candle is found along the path.

The ninth candle is found by taking the split path just before the exit up, instead of down. Lighting the ninth candle will drop you near the exit.


This chapter has a total of 10 candles to find.
The first candle is found on the solid rock along the path. Do not jump down before you get the first candle. Do not light the other candle you can see first. It is a trap.
The second candle is found just beside the first. Lighting it will cause you to drop.

DO NOT light the shadow path candle on the way to the third. Past the trap fourth candle, you will find the third candle on solid rock.

The fourth candle is found by backtracking to the candle you passed on the way to light the third candle. The fourth candle will cause you to fall.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found by taking the path down from the checkpoint candle.

The sixth candle is found along the path, in the middle of a spike area. You will have to remain lit to get to it and get away.

The seventh candle is found along the path. Be careful not to fall.

The eighth candle is found in the middle of a spike trap along the path. Again, you will have to remain lit to light it.

The ninth candle is found under the platform of the eigth candle, left of the exit.

The tenth candle is found going right, past the exit, at the top of the platforms.


This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the first candle.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third and fourth candles are found inside the spike area just after the second candle. I found it easier to pass the spikes, going onto solid rock, then backtrack to light them.

The fifth candle is found along the path, inside a shadow wall. Light up to get in. Be careful not to die inside the wall.

The sixth candle is found along the path, on the other side of a shadow staircase.

This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the second candle.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found by going right, past the exit. It is behind another shadow wall.

The sixth candle is found by climbing the shadow walls after the fifth candle.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path, atop the shadow block used to solve the moving block puzzle.

The third candle is found by moving the puzzle block to the left and using it to get atop the wall.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The fifth candle is found by taking the invisible path down and right from the fourth candle.

The sixth candle is found by guiding the moving block to its spot on a shadow block.

The checkpoint candle is found after the sixth candle.

The seventh candle is found down and right from the checkpoint candle.

The eighth candle is found on the invisible path right from the moving block path that leads to the exit.

This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path, on the tooth of the first gear.

The second candle is found by going right after the first candle. It is on the tooth of a gear.

The third candle is found along the path, on the tooth of a gear.

The fourth candle is found along the path, in the center of a gear.

The fifth candle is found along the path, on the tooth of a gear.

The sixth candle is found along the path, in the center of a gear.

The checkpoint candle is found after the sixth candle.

The seventh candle is found by going south/downward after riding the gear to the top, just after the checkpoint candle.

The eighth candle is found just to the left of the path, in the center of a gear.


This chapter has a total of 7 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found on the platform on the right of the wall of turning gears.

The third candle is found on the platform on the left of the wall of turning gears, at the top.

The fourth candle is found in the center platform of spinning gears.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The sixth candle is found along the path, in the center of a gear.

The seventh candle is found along the path.


This chapter has a total of 13 candles to find.
This one is timed, as the floor is collapsing. Most of them are along the path but that doesn't make it easy.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path, in the center of a gear.

The first [of three] checkpoint candle is found after the second candle.

The third candle is found along the path.

The fourth candle is found just to the right of the path, right of the block to help you jump to the next section.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The second [of three] checkpoint candle is found after the fifth candle.

The sixth candle is found along the path.

The seventh candle is found along the path.

The eighth candle is found along the path.

The ninth candle is found atop a double tiered platform. You have to have the laser destroy one layer to create steps to the top.

The tenth candle is found to the right of a giant gear blocking the path. Like the ninth, you have to have the laser destroy the gear so you can get through.

The last [of three] checkpoint candle is found after the tenth candle.

The eleventh candle is found by going to the south/down gear when the path splits. It is in the center of the gear.

The twelfth candle is found along the path, in the center of a gear.

The thirteenth candle is found on the platform at the end of the spinning gear path.

This chapter has a total of 6 candles to find.
The first candle is just to the right of the path, between two teeth of a gear.

The second candle is along the path, in an area that lights up.

The third candle is found to the left of the second candle. There is a hidden path past the broken pillar to the left.

The fourth candle is found by taking the right path at the first light bulb on a pedestal. Mind the gap. Falling is death.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

The sixth candle is found along the path.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is found by taking the left path at the first split. It is on a pedestal at the end of the path.

The second and third candles are found on the left and right sides of the path. Play ring around the rosie with the light.

The fourth candle is found along the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the fourth candle.

The fifth candle is found on the left side of the path, on the tooth of a gear.

The sixth candle is found along the path, in the middle of the large hallway.

The seventh candle is found just to the left of the sixth candle, in a small nook under a fallen column.

The eighth candle is found along the path, accessible by the gap between the three light sources.


This chapter has a total of 5 candles to find.
The first candle is found along the path.

The second candle is found along the path.

The third candle is found along the right wall of the path.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found on a fallen pillar that creates a path to the right.

The fifth candle is found on the bottom right pillar along the path of pillars.


This chapter has a total of 5 candles to find.
The first candle is found at the end of the gear you start on.

The second candle is found at the corner wall along the path.

The third candle is found in a nook found along the right wall just before the path to the checkpoint.

The checkpoint candle is found after the third candle.

The fourth candle is found by taking the left path along the gear just after the checkpoint candle.

The fifth candle is found along the path.

This chapter has a total of 3 candles to find.
The first candle is found to the right of a path through a fallen broken pillar. It is just behind the standing pillar.

The second candle is in the center of a broken gear, just to the left of the path.

The checkpoint candle is after the second candle.

The third candle is to the right of a path, at the end of a fallen pillar.


This chapter has a total of 8 candles to find.
The first candle is just south of the path, at the end of a broken gear.

The second candle is along the path.

The third candle is up from the path, just after the second candle, inside a fallen gear.

The fourth candle is along the path, in a floating flower.

The fifth candle is in the middle of a room of ice. It can be reached by melting ice or going around.
