Description

What really matters here is speed, you want to prevent Nightmare from acting as much as possible.  I used the upgraded Lightning Sword converted (through evolution) into a staff for this for the Magic Block, but I also did it with the Lightning Needle (evolved) and the upgraded White Wood Staff.

Pet choices:  The only really essential one is Lucca, with max affinity for the Turn Pass special.  Giving Pieberry extra turns is worth the low damage that Lucca does.  I like Nekomis (from the ice key) to help maintain the chill debuff, the Seed Sprite to passively restore my MP, and the final slot is whatever you want.  For this run I used Tia Rion (the little ice dragon) but Carico, Caric, Tia Reet, or even Brillion (Nightmare doesn't resist dark) are fine.  Just avoid Justice, Backpack Spider, and Tia Reese (or any other pet that does fire damage) to avoid removing the chill debuff.

Try to land the strong hits during the every few turn crit, otherwise watch the timeline, and block (with magic block) if you can't stop his attack.  As long as you have ~1000 HP and sufficient MP you should be fine.  I did this fight twice at far lower power than in this video, so extreme stats you see recommended are not required.  For damage, use your pets and when you can, alternate a strong ice spell and a strong melee.  The Magic Traces buff makes a big boost in your damage.
