So it may be prudent to keep a higher pixel team for solo play and a lower (read 64 pixels) team for multiplayer.
According to it, you look for Dawn of War in your AppData folder, then look for the Badges and Banners folders in there? See the Reddit thread for more details on that. No idea what format your images should be, but if Relic put their vanilla badges and banners in those folders, I'm guessing you could look at them and format your images to imitate them using GIMP. Hope this helps!
Each time I go through this process (and editing campaign colours), I have to relearn everything.
