Description

Originally released in 2022, The Crackpet Show (PC, Switch) definitely had Happy Tree Friends as one of the influences behind it. On September 27th 2023, the inspiration comes to The Crackpet Show for real in form of a crossover DLC for Steam, GOG and Switch users, alongside a new HTF short, "Too Much Scream Time" on Mondo Media's official YouTube channel. Better yet, The Crackpet Show: Happy Tree Friends Edition is also released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on the same day, containing the DLC built-in with those ports. While it's nice to see the HTF gang get a debut on PlayStation and Nintendo systems, this also marks their return to Xbox and PC platforms since Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm, a Lemmings-inspired puzzle game from SEGA and Stainless Games (of Carmageddon fame) that came out on Xbox 360 (via Xbox Live Arcade) and Steam in 2008... though that game's Steam release is no longer available due to the licensing issues between SEGA and Mondo Media, while the Xbox 360 version (which is not backward compatible on Xbox One and Series X|S) will soon be delisted (for real this time) once the Xbox 360 marketplace shuts down for good on July 29, 2024.

Still, it's nice to see the gang return to Xbox and Steam, while being welcomed to Nintendo and PlayStation platforms with open hands.
