Hello there.
My name is Flexike and I am creator of this guide.
Little Backstory:
I played this game since my childhood, and now, at a much older age, I`ve returned to it once again.
I recently played HotA (HoMM3 unofficial dlc with multiplayer) with a friend and suddenly wanted to try this version.
When I bought and launched this version, I saw a lot of minuses, like bad quality textures, not all story chapters, and not working multiplayer. So when I figure out how to fix it all, I want to create this guide for friends, other players and myself (if I return later and forget) about how to fix all of this.

After downloading clear version of Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Tribe of East(only) from Steam
you must have game folder like this:
(if u don`t have some folders don`t worry its becouse I already installed some mods)

So.
For unlocking full campain from previous HoMM5 chapters you need install mod which name is - HoMM5.5
and except campain it also add:

• many new adventure objects,
  
• new larger battlefields,
  
• new heroes,
  
• new classes,
  
• new specializations,
  
• new skills, new artifacts,
  
• new adventure spells,
  
• greatly improved RMG with more than 60 'visualized' Templates
  
• the AI is much more intelligent and calculated much faster.

For better textures of towns, creatures, heroes, foliage, icons and effects u need install another mod which called - Griffin Eternal HD Mod
This mod add:

• HD textures of ALL creatures,
  
• HD textures of MOST of heroes and their unique model
  
• HD textures of Icons
  
• HD textures of all buildings and Towns,
  
• HD texture of foliage(global and fight map),
  
• Better spell effects and effects(fire,water etc.) as total in game

These two mods work well between themselves and thats all I wanted to mention.
Now I gonna teach you how to download & install all these.

Let`s start from installing HoMM5.5.
I download this mod from this site - https://www.moddb.com/mods/might-magic-heroes-55/downloads
But Im not guarantee that there is no virus or something like that, so download on your own risk

Let`s continue, when you are on site find the newest version and download installer.
At this exact moment the most new version is RC18e
Press on article name. It will open new page, there you find "Download" button, press it.
After downloading just run file and when it gives you a choice of folder select folder where your game IS installed.
Example: "D:/Steam/steamapps/common/Heroes of Might and Magic 5:Tribe of East"

Then just wait when installing finish and try to start a game if you do all correct the menu video and logo will change like the first picture in this title.

If all works - well done, pal =)
If something went wrong you can find "uninstall" file in the folder that you selected and try again.

Only thing that u need to know, from now u must start game from "MMH5.5 (64bit)" file or game is gonna crush.
It spawning after installing 5.5 mod on desktop table, if it is not on your table then you can find it in your game folder "HoMM5:Tribe of East > bin" there gonna be "MMH55_64" file u can make shortcut and place somewhere in your desktop.

Congratz after modding HoMM from 5 to 5.5!
Now we gonna make it look awesome with this mod.

(Still, I downloaded from this site but i can`t garantee that there is no virus or something like that, download at ur own risk!)

Basically, click at link, it will open site with mod, click at "FILES" and download ALL files!
After you downloaded all files, open them. Then you gonna see files with type of "h.5u".
You need to open your game folder and find there folder which name is "UserMODs" and then put there all "h.5u" files!


Thats how insides of folder must be:



After that u can close folder and try to start a game, if it didn't crush then well done, pal!
It all work.

For playing with your friend you need to create LAN connection with some software something like "Hamachi" or "RadminVPN".

Basically, you create Local Network with its originally name and password.
Then your friend connects to it. Then you will see him connected and yours connection stability.
If all works fine lauch game:
Start multiplayer game -> local network -> create your nickname(and your friend too)
-> one of you press create and choose map and other one wait for game to show on the table
(if you connected right, it gonna show)


IMPORTANT! You and your friend MUST HAVE:
same versions of the game & same mods

Thats all. Maybe there is another ways how to play, but this one work for me and mine compadre.

Thats typically legal cheats whose are in game.
You just need to open console (by default it is off), that u can do by instructions on this site -
