How To Make Your Own Graphics
By CooperTeam
Not to say the graphics of this game are bad, but wouldn't it be nice to have your own graphics? It's pretty easy. I'm mostly doing this as I have not seen a guide on here, so I am putting a guide here for those who want to use their own graphics.

Changing The Graphics
Before we get started, a few things to know. All images you will be adding/editing will need to be in PNG format. You will also need to take note of the dimensions of the images. The images you will be editing also include clickable buttons and icons as well as frames and backgrounds. Lets get started. (Understand that the idea is to replace images, not add more. So whatever image you would like to add, you have to replace another image)

1.) Locate the game folder
(Usually in "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Age Of Gladiators")
2.) Locate the file "graphics.gladiator" in the folder
3.) PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP OF "graphics.gladiator" just in case you mess up
4.) rename the file to add the ".zip" extension (Ex. graphics.gladiator.zip)
5.) Now, unzip the file

Once you unzip the file, you will first see a "graphics" folder. Double-click it and you will notice a folder called "portraits" plus lots of other PNG files. Take the time to look at some of the PNG files and see what each file is and consider if you want to design your own set.

In the "portraits" folder, you will find all the characters and animals here. Note the size and dimensions of the PNG files and see what changes you would like to make. Just a note, there are no transparency layers in any image, so you can add/make any image easily.

"2-Head-??.png" are the icon images of the "2-portrait-??.png". Numbers go as follows...

1-28 30-32

Numbers 30-32 are the female gladiators in the game. there is no portrait 29 as (This is just a guess) this helps to find male portraits and female portraits.

"portrait" png files are in 333x500 while "Head" png files are in 126x141.

There are 5 animal portraits. If you wish to replace them, note their dimensions and then name the file as such.

The only other warning is to make sure when you replace the images, you also note the names. Make sure they are the same names as the file you replace.

Once you are done editing the zip file, rename the file so that only the ".zip" isn't the extension (graphics.gladiator) so that the game can run correctly.

I hope this helps and hope you have fun.

Just to let you know, achievements will still work regardless of the graphical changes you make.
