Booster Cards
By spielerinchen
Booster Cards or Boosters enable the player, next to direct tool & armor upgrades, to tweak the gameplay to the own liking.

where Tool Upgrades have a lasting effect, are Booster Cards more temporary. in the current state of the game the player loses by death one random Booster Card. (originally with a death all Boosters were lost)

Boosters can also be discarded at will, one by one.

there are 10 spaces for Boosters.
some Boosters stack while other don't. also a stacking combo is possible of a general Booster with a tool attached Booster.

guide is sorted alphabetically

this guide should be by now complete, stacking needs still some clarification.

recommendations
here a list of my personal favourite Boosters :

* Agile Caster (for smoother movement in critical situations)
* Fireproof (makes some dungeons way easier, one could argue even first possible to master at all)
* Pacifist (if you want a more chill gameplay where you are not constantly bothered but fight only on your own terms)
* Slight of Hand general + Slight of Hand Sword (the loading time for casting is reduced significantly, improves your QoL alot)

* Gem Collector + Gatherer (recommended for the extremely grindy Copper mining on Asium & also the Got Coal achievement, otherwise not that necessary)

if you have all the previous Boosters, then you could also go for
* Superiority general + Superiority Sword
* Area of Effect general + Area of Effect Sword

if you are not that keen on farming enemies for Gold, then you might be also needing
* Bounty Hunter, which you can stack for even higher yield

3 side notes :

i recommend to use mainly Sword as the general tool for nearly 100% with the exception of some focussed grinding in some areas where a Pickaxe or Axe might be more effective. that way the Sword should be the very first fully upgraded, followed by Armour & therefore you can concentrate to choose the Boosters for general + Sword

learn asap to Cast the Sword as it is shown to you already on the starting fiery planet. use casting as often as you can manage. i prefered to set in Option the change of tool to Manually, otherwise Sword casting will be pretty chaotic.

use the option to discard Booster Cards at will to your advantage. on the lower levels (0-6) you get the cards way faster than on the later ones (7-9). therefore as long you don't have the card combo you want or need it's more beneficial to keep only those cards you hunt for & discard all other until you have your basic collection complete.

@Space yes, but it's a random chance on level up that it will appear in the pool.

If I lose a booster by death, can I ever get it back???

I just tested it, it does increase ability damage as well.
Also, the 15% is added to the base damage, meaning if you have three Mighty it's
Base DMG * (1 + 0.15 + 0.15 + 0.15), not Base DMG * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.15

Does Mighty increase ability damage?
And if so does it increase it more than Superiority?

oh, and area of sword is stackable

Pacifist may be pretty useful, but don't come to close to enemys or they will still attack you.
