Full Fish Species Guide: All Fish & Some Fishing Tips
By Raptvre
This is a guide for all fish in the game and where and when you can catch them. I've included base prices, and weather, along with some assorted fishing tips. I made this because I wanted a steam guide to keep open on my second monitor while I played, but there wasn't one yet.

Intro
This guide includes fish names with pictures, where and when they can be caught, the weather, and the time of day and season it needs to be as well. Here are the exact time slots:
Morning (06:00-11:50)
Afternoon (12:00-15:50)
Evening (16:00-17:50)
Night (18:00-00:50)

I also wanted to include a few fishing tips as well.
  • Longer casts increase chances of fish rarity and size.
  • Bait size corresponds to a higher chance of that same sized fish.
  • If you want to catch the rare seasonal fish, plan ahead. It's really easy to miss one rainy day in the second half of the season because you were focused on farming or foraging.
  • For fish that need weather that may come around only once or twice a season, you can change the game time speed to 50% for more time in a day.
Fishing Locations
These are the fish spawn locations:
  • Mine
  • Forest River
  • Town River
  • Lake
  • Rice Fields
  • Farm River
  • Pond
  • Ocean Dock
  • Estuary
  • Ocean Beach
  • Ocean Lookout
I shaded the map to delineate what each body of water counts as.
Fish (1)
The fish are in the same order as they appear in your Journal to make it easy to find a specific one you're missing. It's a long list, so use CTRL+F to find the fish you're looking for faster. In the prices section, the first is base price with no quality stars.

Catch Altar Fish
These are the fish required for the Catch Altar. I kept the locations and seasonal information to make it easy to have this info condensed when hunting specifically these fish, so you don't have to skip around the main part of this guide looking for them individually.

Thank you so much for the guides.

@TinKelp Steam guide formatting is wonky so I pick and choose what to add. When I made the guide I included what information I was commonly looking up, and size wasn't something I payed attention to. It corresponds a good deal to rarity; all Legendaries are large, for example. If you want a full list go here and scroll down to 'Size of fish': https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Fishing

I could maybe look into adding it if you feel like it's useful, but reformatting the tables would definitely take me some time.

@TheBlackMambah Thanks!

"Bait size corresponds to a higher chance of that same sized fish."

So each fish also has a size category? Then how do I know which fish are considered small, medium, or large? You don't list that information.
TheBlackMambah 1 Aug @ 10:38am
Well done on this detailed guide. Appreciate the time and effort you put into this.

@Eisthee I think I made that exact same mistake when I face playing... It's fixed now, thanks for the heads up.
Eisthee 5 May @ 10:13am
For the rare fish altar you need the Gator Gar! Not the Golden Gar (only realised this after catching the fish)
