Introduction

The world of The Bloodline is full of dangers. Anything from nasty little green goblins to blood-sucking vampires could jump you around any corner! The best way to ensure success (and survival) is to ensure you always have a full stomach!

Cooking in The Bloodline is sort of an easier alchemy. Most, if not all, foods will heal you when eaten and certain recipes provide potion-like buffs such as health or mana regen, or even Druidsight!

The world is full of distractions and things to do, so I don't blame you if cooking can seem a little difficult. That's why I've put together this short (but not really short) guide to help you start your culinary journey!

Search Function
There are a TON of recipes and ingredients. If you are here in search of how to acquire or craft a specific item, utilize the search function to quickly find what you need! Just press ( ctrl + f ) and type in the name. I've done my best to make sure everything is searchable this way.

Updates
The game is constantly getting new updates that add a ton of recipes, change item spawns, and add new shops. I'll do my best to keep the guide updated but don't be surprised if it takes a day or two!
Where to cook
Say you've already got some ingredients, and have done a bit of studying on recipes. Where do you even go to cook?

What a good question!

Currently, there are two places to cook at: the Harbinger Stronghold, and the city of Elderglen.

The Harbinger Stronghold Kitchen
The first one you'll probably encounter is within the starting area, the Harbinger Stronghold. Here, your resident cook can also teach you some basics if you want.

The Fletcher's Fowl Inn
The next is the Fletcher's Fowl Inn, which is located on the second floor (or first floor for our EU friends) of the Fletcher's Fowl shop in Elderglen. You'll find a fancy stove inside, and a grumpy-looking barkeep who might have an assignment or two for you!

Quests
There are a couple of quests available that might teach you a thing or two of the culinary arts. Most of them are very straightforward, and if you are confused about the recipe, your quest journal should help.

Nevertheless, if you are still having trouble, I've outlined the quests below.

Charles Hullet
Charles is your resident cook, hanging out in the kitchen of the Harbinger's Stronghold. He's got two cooking quests to teach you the basics.

- Craft 1 basic stew: 1x potato & 1x carrot & 1x cabbage

- Craft 4 flour: 2x wheat
- Craft 1 bread: 4x flour

Woodrow Hemoth
Mr Hemoth runs the Fletcher's Fowl Inn in the city of Elderglen. Currently he only has one cooking quest. He'll provide the ingredients, and recipe if you ask for it.

- Prepare 10x salted minitrout: 1x salt & 1x grey minitrout
Ingredients

Before we get started, let's run through our ingredients! I can't expect you to be sliding out world-class meals without knowledge of the basics. This section is just to list our ingredients, I'll be going over their acquisition in the next section.

I've split the ingredients into different categories based on their type: meats, dairy, mushrooms, veggies/fruits/grains/plants, and etc.

Sourcing Ingredients
Before we even get to cooking, we need some ingredients. The bountiful land will provide you with most ingredients like meats, fish, and mushrooms, while others may only be found within random containers like boxes, chests, and cupboards. Select stores in some cities will also sell a few ingredients, so keep your eyes peeled.

Random containers
Unfortunately, there are several ingredients that only seem available through looting random containers, notably crates, cupboards, and chests. I have no doubt they will be farmable, purchasable, for findable elsewhere, but for now those ingredients are:

- Carrots
- Cabbage
- Potato
- Onion
- Honey

Shopping
Markets across the world offer countless goods, foods and ingredients included. Not every ingredient is available in shops, so you will still have to venture out an source some items on your own. But that's alright, cause the adventure makes the food tastier!

*Sorry don't "turn around and look for a place to cook" -- you just walk out of the tent and it's the campfire and cooking kettle in the middle of camp that you can use to cook.

*Update* I don't know how new this is, as I am very new myself, but you can cook at the Bakery in your little town after you built it (just go in and go behind the Baker to the stone oven), and I believe you can also cook at a camping tent in some places (Like Elderglen Woods when you camp there, you start in a tent I blelieve, just turn around and look for a place to cook).
