On second thought, maybe those NPCs see you as a kind of 'boss' not only in the game world but also in real life. Who knows, maybe that's why when you walk around on the streets people don't treat you with respect, but more like they're trying to avoid you. It's hard to walk around like a boss in the cyberpunk world, it seems.
Anyway, maybe this game is giving you some real life lessons. You might have to work a little harder to replicate your in-game successes in the real world.
