Datalink terminals are large, complicated, and are rarely used in stormworks. Until now.

Share position and target location between up to 120 users on a system that only needs to take up a single instrument panel and a single display page. There's even built-in support for voice transmission!

Color Key:
Cyan - You
Green - Friend
Red - Your Target
White - Your GPS POI
Magenta - Datalink Target

This creation is only a set of default terminals that can be used together to share basic target data. But for LUA developers, this system can be expanded much further.

To start, NN-Link uses a TDMA protocol that joins the network based on random time slot designation. This means that no matter what time of day, what location, what spawn tick, it will always join a random slot. Two terminals in the same save file? They will communicate perfectly.

For developers:

The network protocol is a 120 tick (2sec) data stream consisting of the following composite data:
Num 1-3 - Position XYZ
Num 4-6 - Target XYZ

With this simple network format, the burden of complication is inside the systems that wish to use it. Need to send more targets? Just emulate more users. Want to smooth out the movement? Apply a TWS system function, and treat each of the last 120 ticks as separate track files. I can't wait to see what systems integrate this network into their designs!

Is this to be used for commercial vehicles or mainly for naval/millitary operations?

does it work with a 2x2 Monitor?

This is just used to see the data, and also as a terminal to connect the stream of data to pull from to transmit. Add me on discord @thatcoolcat1 and I can explain a bit more how this fits into a full system

or is this not used for putting into the vehicles and just to see the data?
