-- GUIDE Discontinued [07/2024]. WHY? -- Summons (among some other skills) have too many issues since 0.2 and dev is only listening to his hardcore chat of pleasers. Forum is kinda dead and seems pointless. -> So this game can´t get any momentum as the changes with each update are too much and the dev does not even stick halfway to his own roadmap. Important changes to skills, trees and balancing haven´t been made ..aka been denied many times because of game design. Game is kinda dead already. FYI: This is coming from somebody with ~150hours in this game alone plus the former ones and 60-70% of that with summons. I got 5-7classes on my chars and cleared all the current maps, been top10 in Ranking, etc. Got my saves altered + even deleted from bugs, play since 0.1 and can definitely say this game is worse than the previous in many aspects O_O TLDR: This game has become a dumbed down Shareware version of PoE. Not worth the time investment you need to get powerful enough to enjoy it. Because even then this game can mess you over thanks to monster skills, AI and BUGS...


Most important: v0.2 is still EARLY EA.. but all classes + no level limit is already in!
v0.3 out now.. will update next days (not worth it ^^)

  • Knight / Prowler -Pet DPS- (4* Warrior-Soldier-Knight +Prowler)
    ..strong from start, makes exploring fun & boss fights easy. The king, the leader.
    -> #top5 zone clear build. #choice for lonewolf/hardcore

  • Mage Archer / Mage -ranged Burst DPS- (4* Prowler-Archer-MageArcher + Mage)
    ..Gear dependent & late Bloomer (Lv.25+), the work pays off Lv.30+ (1-hit-deleting groups/elites and major bosses in 1-4hits lol). High mobility from Prowler makes him the safest Map-explorer.
    -> #top5 zone clear build. #choice for lonewolf/hardcore

  • Barbarian / Archer -midrange Burst DPS- (4* Warrior-Barbarian + Prowler-Archer)
    ..the GOD of Speedleveling and Farming with superb mobility. Not to forget: deletes Bosses.
    -> #top5 zone clear build. #option for lonewolf/hardcore

  • Assassin / Acrobat -midrange Burst DPS- (4* Prowler-Thief-Assassin + Acrobat)
    ..Veteran choice with great Speedleveling & Farming plus best mobility in the game. But you need 30-50 Ortharion Fragments to start and performance is very gear-dependent.

  • Brawler/Berserker -melee range Nuker- (5* Warrior-Barbarian-Brawler +Berserker +Prowler)
    ..Warcry expert with 4(!) Shouts - very tricky against crowds because melee, but the power is undeniable. @Lv40 almost 300k AoE-dmg in 3sec (30k+30k+60k+180k = Monster!)
    5th class Prowler adds massive mobility, it´s almost freaky. Still dies sometimes, when stunned!!

  • Pyromancer / Druid -midrange DPS- (4* Mage-Elementalist-Pyromancer + Druid)

Change of direction
- The RPG-oriented aspect has been greatly reduced, leaving mainly the hack'n slash system at the heart of the game, namely the customization of your character.
- following elements have been removed: Crafting with components to be picked up on the ground, swimming, puzzles, quests (you will have missions per area as well as a progress log.).

All this makes it possible to lighten the code, remove many elements which were not finished and which would therefore have taken me more time.
The start of the game will be more random and dynamic, you will have more different locations to explore and more choices of skills and equipment changing your play style from the first hour.

Several changes to Naming:

_Familiar => Spirit (the small spheres that revolve around you), i just forget to change the skill name.

Balancing
-Weapons can have gems. Spellbooks and Shields cannot !!
-Sword of Justice: Damage area increased: 1 -> 2 meters
-item repair components REMOVED!
-enemies' AOE skills move slightly further ahead of your movements, forcing you to change your trajectories more often.
-spirits and turrets attack random targets instead of always the same one.
-Piercing Aim (Archer) works correctly and has 25% chance on critical hit to reduce the cooldown of your offensive skills

-Areas explored on fog of war increase by 33% on outdoor areas.
-guild mannequin gets x20 maximum life (..->Ranking Dummy)

v0.2 🎉U P D A T E (Jan 2024) -- several 0.4 to 0.9 features introduced !!

New content
-You can have 7 classes at the same time now !! -- (originally v0.9)
-All classes are available, with 18 new ones to choose from and an addition of just over 100 new skills. The number of Ortharion fragments required has been reduced!
-Added 13 new skills, including 10 divine ones.
-Addition of 4 powers for equipment, these new powers allow you to learn new skills not linked to class, namely: pillar of frost (belt), improve speed (weapon), volcanic eruption (shoulders), clay armor (torso).
-Runic words now visible in interface and around 25 have been added to the already existing ones that were hidden, for a total of 30 visible!
-Added gems and socket to equipment that does not have runic power.
-Strange black lights are visible in the sky, the story of the game has only just begun!
-new GUILD-NPC that can identify items in exchange for gold.
-Ranking System is now functional, there will only be 1 overall ranking system which includes: success point, damage on the mannequin, total equipment and equipment power of character. The game's final bosses are worth a huge amount of points, so if you simply beat the game, you'll be at the top of the leaderboard. High-level content will earn extra points next.
-Maximum level limitation removed! -- (originally v0.4)

-Bonus weapon damage is correctly calculated if you are equipped with 2 weapons of different types...
-Damage is correctly calculated for multiple categories...
-Multiple area damage effects feature correct sound adjustment when you lower or raise the game sound....
-Footstep sounds take into account in-game volume effects.
-Several upgrade skills were not properly upgraded when leveling up....
-The quests, when they are returnable, are visible on the local map and no longer just the mini map....
-Fixed a bug that could cause a zone change when resurrecting the character....
-Several boss death sounds have been revised.

Arcade mode:
-game mode option at character creation (!)
-allows you to ignore the systems for weight, object identification and lock picking of chests.

>> By activating this mode you lose the 25% movement speed bonus when your inventory is almost empty. Blocking doors that require picking or identification will open directly. It is no longer possible to find certain skills and items in arcade mode (eg: lockpicks, identification scrolls, etc.)
The addition of "arcade mode" aims to remove some of the frustration from the mini games, in return additions have been made to leave the classic "story mode" still interesting, but requiring more knowledge and investment:
  • Weight: This was already the case before, being with little weight on you allows you to gain 25% movement speed (or having up to 50% reduction in movement speed, if overloaded).
  • Identification: Successful item identification has a 10% chance to increase Item-Rarity.
  • Lockpicking: Chests that require lockpicking give more items compared to before.
    normal, magic, rare chests = +1 item
    Epic, Legendary chests = +2 items

    ...A camp that the player can develop, several game modes will be available in this camp allowing to test all the bases of the game.
    The game's campaign will be little developed: only 4 of the 16 zones offered in the game will be available and that in a non-final version.

    The goal is to offer gameplay that is already very successful and then come to work on the story aspect and add more optional content specific to the campaign.
    So the player will already be able to have high level characters at the launch of Early Access but the content will become repetitive probably after 10 hours.”

    “Ortharion: The Last Battle is a new version of Ortharion Project where the community has been a great help to move in the right direction, we intend to reproduce this by working more on the quality of the game as well as a very wide variety of content.

TLDR: This game has become a dumbed down Shareware version of PoE. Not worth the time investment you need to get powerful enough to enjoy it. Because even then this game can mess you over thanks to monster skills, AI and BUGS...
