Stat Boosting "Cheat Sheet"
By In-sight-
A infographic crib sheet (a.k.a. "cheat sheet") to help you remember what settings to prioritise on various tabs (modules, shards, ship cores, reactor, research, base, and crew) in order to synergize and maximise your boost to a specific stat (damage / shield, salvage, compute, research, synth, void matter / power / reactor, shard drops, warp essence)

Hopefully you find this picture format quicker and more intuitive than reading some bit elaborate guide.

Spoiler Alert
This aims to be useful to players from sectors 25-75 (and perhaps a bit beyond). It will naturally contain some spoilers, including features you haven't unlocked yet if you are in an earlier sector. If you don't immediately recognise an icon or image, you can safely ignore it as something you haven't unlocked yet.

Around sector 75, things change up quite a bit and this becomes a less complete guide to min/maxing everything.
How to Maximise Each Stat
(updated 2025-07-16)

Hopefully you find this picture format quicker and more intuitive than reading some bit elaborate guide.

Each column is a stat that can be boosted across different tabs of the game. As many other guides will tell you, to progress quickly you're better off focusing on boosting one stat at a time to the maximum, rather than doing everything poorly.

Sometimes, it's possible to completely maximise two or more stats simultaneously (Like Synth + Compute) - especially when more module slots and links are unlocked.

Here's an explanation of a couple of visual choices I made above:
  • Large shard icons directly boost a stat. Small ones either indirectly boost it, or only provide additional boost once you unlock the ability to link shard slots.
  • Similarily, large module icons directly boost a stat, small icons indirectly or only sporadically provide a boost.
  • Modules are roughly ordered by importance (left to right, top to bottom) in providing additional boost. Without many module slots unlocked, you will need to pick the best ones for your situation.
  • Greyed out module icons are situationally useful, depending on your setup and e.g. how quickly you're clearing waves in your current sector.
  • Bases shown are where a base's parts contribute to the stat. The exact layout shown is a sample that works well, but different layouts will be optimal depending on how much you've upgraded each block.
  • Crew choices are annotated to highlight stats that should be avoided, including interactions with other crew members once you get to have more than 2 crew active.

For the shards, the same one is is in 5 of the slots. Am I misunderstanding that or is the ability to put the same shard in multiple slots something you unlock?

What'd help is knowing the total costs per core component, so you know what to bank pre-retrofitting

@AlconburyBlues - what does the fact that it worked in the past matter for me or any other human in the entire universe that wanted to see the information?

@Wig Bang, apparently NOW it gives an error. But not at the time of my posting. So don't be rude.:steamsalty: I was helpful at the time, and it worked just fine for BCS. But Steam cleans their servers once in a while, and only the thumbnails remain. So just ask the author for a copy of the image file on a share site. It's that easy, without being a jackhole.:steamfacepalm: Use the brain you were born with. Or is that an invalid URL as well?:steammocking:

Updated this to day with a revamped Crew section to help avoid gotchas, and one new shard that can be earned before sector 78.

After 75, things change up quite a bit. I'm just getting back into the game myself now, but I'll probably aim for this particular cheat-sheet to look no further beyond this point. For that, there are other guides :)

@AlconburyBlues

No.

That is not how it works. And besides, clicking the image just gives an invalid URL error anyway.

So no. You are wrong and unhelpful.

@BCS, You will see a much larger version where everything is easy to see and read if you do this...

1) Click on the image to show the slightly larger (but still cropped) version of the image.
2) Right click on the link that now shows above the image, and select "copy link address".
3) Paste that link into your internet browser window, and hit enter.

Now you can save that image to your desktop or wherever for future reference.

The image is pretty much unreadable to me, can you please type up what the text says? It's microscopic!
