  • you can view the control schematic here too

moving things
if you're using keyboard/mouse, and the mouse is too slow you can also use the arrow keys to move the position of tools + spawners and turn the meat grinder or lazy susan (level select)

moving where food drops
press and hold the food's button until a line appears, then you can move it with the mouse or arrows if youre on keyboard, or the analog stick if youre using a controller

magnet
changing magnet height
magnet height is zoom-dependent, so if you zoom in, the magnet will be lower down, and vice versa
magnet strength
if you use a controller, the magnet strength increases as you pull the trigger down more. if you are using keyboard/mouse, then you can tap the left mouse if you just want to nudge something and not have it fly away
granular magnet positioning
you can precisely control where the magnet is if you use it while the Camera Tool is active, itll be right where the crosshairs are in "pivot" mode and right in front of you in "fly mode"

stage interactions
tilting stage
Can do this in popcorn, boba tea, egg maze.
On keyboard/mouse, hold shift and move the mouse, on controller use left analog stick

Effects on other systems
rhythmic play can make other stuff behave differently
Tenderizer
Hammer hits 1 whole note apart will do a super smash
Constellation Spell
  • Doing a streak of 1/4 notes will increase the number of layers the shape has
  • Doing a streak of 1/8 notes will make the shape expand
Single-Food Version of Spells
first do these things
  1. fill the meter
  2. select a spell (the symbol will appear in the circle)
now you can do the single-food version of the spell
  1. do a whole note
  2. another ring will appear, when it overlaps, spawn another food (it'll overlap a whole note later)
  3. profit, that food will have an effect applied to it

Spells
KEYBOARD/MOUSE Use Spell / Dispel: RIGHT MOUSE CLICK Open Menu: hold SHIFT + RIGHT MOUSE CLICK CONTROLLER Use Spell / Dispel: LEFT TRIGGER Open Menu: L3

It's the same button to cast a spell and dispel, here's how to do the one you want:
a spell will be cast if both are true
  • meter is full
  • there's a spell selected

otherwise, holding down the spell trigger until the rainbow radiates out will trigger a dispel

FREEZE
freeze the food
IGNITE
set all the food on fire
CONSTELLATION
the food assumes a kind of geometric configuration
  • you can control the shape of this by doing streaks of quarter notes (increase the # of layers) and eighth notes (make the shape expand)
GRAVITY
toggle gravity
DANCE
food dances to the music
  • if you apply this to a food more than once it'll dance harder
SCALE
alternate between making the food huge and tiny
IDYLLIA
cinematic music video type mode that follows a random food
  • you can still spawn food in this mode
  • firing this spell again while it's already active will switch the camera
  • if you wanna get out of this mode without dispelling all of the active effects in the scene you can just open the tool camera and close it
DISPEL
slows time and removes active spell + combo effects
  • also resets the bottle bowling pins in Ramune
  • also resets any key changes you did via a combo
Tools
You can also use arrow keys to move tools

KNIFE
chop the food
Tenderizer
smush the food
  • if you hit something on a whole note you can do a super smash
Food Dye
color the food
  • mod (shift or L1 on controller) cycles the color
  • the colors mix together if you dye a food with different color drops
Ray Gun
make the food tiny or huge
  • mod (shift or L1 on controller) cycles between big/small/normal size
Shaker
salt and pepper
  • mod (shift or L1 on controller) cycles between salt and pepper
Blowtorch
set the food on fire
Camera
get close up or fly around the level
  • mod (shift or L1 on controller) cycles the camera mode, fly camera mode is like FPS
  • the magnet still works and makes you go fast
  • you can use spells in this mode
  • if you have any jellyfish foods unlocked, you can spawn food while using the camera
Mic Controls
Use your computer/external mic to play with your food!
Nour uses the microphone like Astros playroom does.

WIND
Blow into the mic to create a gust of wind!

SLURP
Slurping, inhalation, and even vacuum sounds will suck food towards you!

Levitation
Sing in tune with the background music to get some golden particles that levitate your food. This also seems to summon the jellyfish.

General
Accidentally bump into a table? Someone slammed a door? The food will jump up in surprise!

What can I do if the Mic Features seem too sensitive/not sensitive enough?
  • The Pause Menu’s audio settings have a mic sensitivity slider.
  • Check your system’s input settings, those might be set really high or low.
  • For the slurping specifically, it reacts to deep breaths in, sniffs, any mouth sound that is kinda like a slurp, if you're streaming and happen to be laughing, snorting, (maybe eating on cam) a lot, mute the mic if you want a break from breaking the 4th wall.

lol… I can’t get past the first popcorn level! I have no idea what to do, and most of the controls listed here don’t work.

Is Midi Fighter support still in the game?
